Description

Up for sale is a 2005 Acura RSX Type S in a driveable condition (and passes inspection) with a 6-speed manual transmission and includes both sets of tires (the front passenger side wheel is what the other set looks like). I have no clue how much this is actually worth considering the rebuilt motor. the front that needs painting. the cam sensor wire that needs fixing (car still is drivable though. more details below) and the seat rip needs repair. There is also the lemon law thing that has always been attached to my car. but that was just the previous owner didn't like a certain noise when the wheel was turned a certain distance in the front passenger side while turning. This was something the dealership told him was normal on all RSX's but the owner was still able to sell it back under lemon law anyways because he complained about it 3 times or whatever. I drove other RSX's before purchase just to make sure they weren't lying to me. and it was the same barely audible noise in the other RSX as well. It's not even really noticeable to be honest with you unless you are specifically looking for it. I've also driven it for over 100. 00 miles with zero problem regarding the lemon law claim. Long story short. I would have boughten a different RSX if I had the slightest worry that it was a problem. I am starting the bidding at $3. 95 because that is the absolute lowest I am willing to sell it for right now. I'd rather keep it and give it to my son in 3 years when he turns 16 than sell it for less than that. especially since the engine rebuild 30k ago was over $4. 00. Send me a message if you live near San Antonio and you would like to see it in person before making an offer. It has 136. 00 miles on it. but only about 30. 00 miles on the rebuilt motor with forged pistons. double valve springs and a few other things. I have the receipt for the rebuild. it was done by Nguyen Motorsports. It also had a transmission rebuild at around 80. 00 miles (maybe even 90. 00) due to a bad synchronizer when I first bought it but it didn't actually get fixed until after the factory warranty expired and it was done under the extended warranty. I've only red lined it twice since rebuilding the motor because I got in trouble with the law while it was in the break-in stage and then went 6 months with safe and very little driving (I only raced it a handful of times before the rebuild). Then I started driving daily again and got in a collision and ever since then it does a kind of 'cough' if you step on the gas really fast. like a delay before the engine kicks in. I stopped caring about speed though after my incident with the law. so I've just lived with the occasional 'cough' for the last year and a half since I never gun it anyways nowadays. If I receive no interest in the car since it does this putter/cough. I will get that fixed and then relist it with the added cost. but I figured since this is a kind of car someone is probably going to work on themselves (or even throw the engine/transmission in something else). I will just list it low so you can fix it instead of an expensive mechanic doing it. If you decide you don't want to fix it. you have to rev the engine up to 2k and let the car warm up for a few minutes or else it will also start coughing at stop lights until the engine is warmed up. It's actually died on me a few times at a light when I didn't let it warm up first. The cough that the engine does when you step on the gas to fast to describe it in more detail it kind of does this Bu Bu Buuaaaahhhhh. The engine throws a cam sensor error. but after getting it replaced. it still had the same error. so I'm pretty sure it is the wire running from the cam sensor to the ECU. But like I said before. the car runs fine other than this issue. and I haven't wanted to spend any money getting it fixed since it doesn't bother me and doesn't happen that often. I would also like to note that after the accident. I had to get the radiator. front bumper. headlight. side panel. windshield and a few others things replaced. but I DID NOT get a new hood. airbags or a paint job. Everything has worked great since then though except what I've already mentioned. The plan was to repaint the whole car and get a badass hood but then I kind of just fell off the whole excitement in sporty cars thing and now that I'm 32. I really stopped caring about showing off and looking good. it just became a get me from point A to point B kind of car. Anyways. once the 'cough' gets fixed. you paint it whatever color you want. and get racing seats. this car will be amazing. Hands down the best money you could spend on a car. It is such a thrilling ride. There is still not another car under $10. 00 that I would rather have other than an RSX Type S. If you don't buy mine. please do yourself a favor and buy someone elses. I've had the fortune of driving dozens of cars in the sub 10k price range. and none of them even come close. I'm probably biased because I love it so much. but there are a lot of car enthusiasts out there that would agree. It is also the 210 HP version. 2005 was the only year that had 210 horsepower because of emissions laws in 2006 that brought it back down to 201. A fun fact I didn't find out until I'd had the car for 4 years. I only accept payment in cash. USPS money order. or a cashier's check from a large bank that has an office in San Antonio for me to go and cash it. I hear a lot about eBay scams with money orders or whatnot. so if you send me something that takes weeks to clear my bank or something I cannot cash right away. I will not allow the car to leave my driveway until said funds clear. I have read that USPS is the best for money orders. so that is the only type of money order I will accept since it will be easy to figure out if it is fraudulent. I would really prefer if you picked it up personally and paid cash so we don't have to deal with any of that. but if you can't. once the payment is cashed/cleared. you can ship it wherever you would like. This is a 2 owner vehicle. I've owned it from 10. 00 miles until now. The title should be clean (other than the weird lemon law thing that is a non-issue). but it was in an accident like I mentioned. Again. if there is serious inquiries. I can get a carfax report to get all the details on the car. This obviously has to be sold as is because of the problems it has. but I've gone into quite a bit of details with everything I know is wrong with it. Another side note is that the passenger window has been replaced due to a rock through it from a lawn mower and last but not least the driver side window motor was replaced under warranty because it stopped working maybe 5 years ago. Thanks for your interest in my car. and if you have any questions. please just let me know.
