Extremely Rare 1972 Javelin AMX original 401c.i., lose ratio 4 speed, ith Twin Grip differential and working A/C, ally-Pac option. Go-Pac options ordered separately and shown on window sticker. All original. This is a "toptier" Muscle car and one of the rarest muscle cars ever made. Only 825 Javelin AMXs were made in 1972 with the largest AMC engine, he 401c.i. with 430ft lbs of torque, nd only ahandfulhad 4 speeds. Estimates are 20-25 4 speeds built in 1972. Add the VERY RARE, xtra cost, pecial paint color Classic Black and the rare air conditioning option for the 401c.i. and you have one of the rarest of the rare. Probably 1 of 1 made, r at least, he last remaining one on the planet.
Amazing condition, uns fantastic, verything works, /C is nice and cold, lock works, ll Rally-Pac gauges work, 40 mph speedometer, ll lights work, rive anywhere. Starts right up, o smoke, o noises, o leaks etc. Car has never been restored anddoesn'tneed to be. Very compete car with all the impossible to find parts still there and in excellent condition. Very rare to find one like this.
This is one of the most beautifully styled cars ever. AMC designer Eric Kugerused influences from many muscle cars and the Corvette to design the Ultimate Muscle Car.At car shows, any people gather around it and are amazed at this car. You just never see these at all. You won't ever see one again in this condition. The time to buy one is when you see it.

This car is a early car being built in October of 1971. These wheels alone are worth thousands of dollars. They are in excellent condition.Correctly repainted with a 5 step process and still has the original pressed on trim rings (trim rings were carefully removed and front of wheels were sandblasted and repainted. Rear side of wheels are still original paint-see link photos). Tires are almost new B.F. Goodrich Radial T/As. 235/60-15 front, 55/60-15 rear.
Complete owner history: I have talked to the original owner who special ordered this car new from the dealer. She loved fast cars and wanted the best out there. She ordered this car the way she wanted it, tealth in black, nd faster then the more common muscle cars. She ordered most all of the Go-Pac options "a la cart" to have it optioned the way she wanted it. The car cost $5,000 new in 1971. She sold it in 1988. There have been only 3 other owners. Here is a quote from when I talked to the Original Owner (she bought the car new when she was 27 years old, raded in her 1971 Javelin on it. I have all paperwork and sales contract): "I purchased her from a dealer called State American in Schenectady NY in 1971-special order and thought it would never get here. The day that I drove it home two guys on I-87 in a Grand Torino thought they could go faster but I showed them who had the faster car--really loved that car."
FullOriginalpaperwork (not reproduction): Window Sticker, ales purchase contract, wners manual, arranty card with original owners name, arranty sticker, eys in key bag, ealer service receipts, eceipt of deposit for sale to second owner. Body: Very nice andstraightbody. Solid car, runk, rame, loors. See photo link for lots of under body and detail photos. Bumpers have beenre-chromed, ll trim is excellent. The rear bumper blackout treatment is not paint, t is the factory correct decal.
Paint:Beautiful original color Classic Black paint, eryshiny, nly a couple of small chips. Paint is not new, think its 10-15 years old but looks new, o bubbles or issues. Looks great and has a nice clear coat over it. Show and go quality, out of 10.
Interior: Mint condition, ll original with only new carpet added. BlackCorduroyseats in mint condition. Dash is perfect with no cracks at all. Dash panel, oor panels, onsole, re all mint. All gauges work, ncluding the clock, ll windows work, eadliner is great.
Motor: Original numbers matching 401c.i. was rebuiltin 1981by Ed Kopper (who was crew chief for funny car driver Bob Newberry). In 2013 the motor was refreshed with new rings, bearings, am, ifters, alve springs, timingset, t 47,872 miles (2,000 miles ago).I have allreceipts. Looks to still be a standard bore, riginal piston 401.New heater core, riginal radiator was serviced. Car runs cool even in hot weather.
Transmission: Original Borg-Warner Super T-10 close ratio 4 speed. It works perfectly. New clutch in 2013 at 47,872 miles.Rear 3.15 gear the perfect gear with the close ratio 4 speed.
Suspension: Rebuilt front suspension, ll new brakes, otors, rums, aster cylinder, ll brake tubing.
Included in this sale is the box of the Original Owner's 8 track tapes. The tape player works perfectly and is great to show to the young kids. Most of them don't understand how music can be on tape inside a plastic box, nd why sometimes a song isinterruptedby the player "changing gears" (tracks). Of course, he older people all have great memories of 8 track players.
If this were a 4 speed, /C Big block Camaro, uda, hallenger, TO, 42, ustang, tc., t would sell for $80,000+. This is a greatbargainfor a top of the line Muscle Car, nd will onlyappreciate as more people find out about these super-rare Muscle Cars.
You never see these cars in this condition. It looks fantastic. Very clean. This AMX is ready to show, ruise, rive, nd enjoy as is. Be ready for lots of attention.
