Description

This car has been my baby and my pride and joy for the last 11 years and therefore what follows is a very detailed description of the car as I know it inside and out. I bought it off the second owner in 2004 with about 61. 00 miles and have owned it since then. living in Florida. California. Puerto Rico and Arizona. Clean Title on hand. I have babied it the entire time I have had it. It was my daily driver from 2004 until 2008 and when I moved to Northern Arizona. it became my Spring/Summer/Weekend/leisure car from 2008 until now and I have only put 10. 00 additional miles in the last 7 year. Clean Carfax shows 4 owners because of getting it re-titled in Arizona when I moved back here from Puerto Rico. but I am the 3rd owner. No Rust. I no longer drive it as often as I would like and want it to go to a deserving owner and BMW enthusiast that will enjoy it as much as I have. Since it snows here in Flagstaff. I leave it in the garage from November to April and due to my other activities. I mostly use my truck. This is by far the best car I have ever owned and it has never left me stranded on the side of the road. It drives like a beauty and still pulls hard when needed. Never tracked. but driven spiritedly as it should. but never abused. It is no garage queen like others currently on Ebay. with half the miles at a very high asking. After all this time. it still gets lots of looks and comments wherever I go. It always starts effortlessly and I have kept on top of maintenance throughout the years. replacing even the smallest trim parts as they break from wear. Have used Mobil 1 Synthetic oil throughout my ownership and have done most of the maintenance and repair work myself. The car has no leaks. The minor mods to the car are: · AFE cold air intake · Cross-drilled rotors front and rear · Sony CD/MP3 Player stereo with Bluetooth and Handsfree calling. · JL Audio 6 channel amp · CD Changer Delete · Tastefully and professionally done custom two tone interior. · Color Matched Factory Hard Top with working dome lights and rear glass window defroster (This is a $2000 option). It looks beautiful with the hard top on and it is like having two different cars…) · Clear turn signal lenses all around. including Glass Euro Projector Headlights. · Euro M-Technik II 3-spoke steering wheel with M color Stitching (Without Airbag. original steering wheel with airbag included) The Estoril Blue Metallic is in my opinion by far the best color for this car. According to the BMW M Registry. BMW produced 2. 52 US spec. manual transmission convertibles. of which few were Estoril Blue. Below is a list of some of the work done in the last 3 years from most recent to oldest. I have receipts for all work and parts from the day I bought it including as well as spare Valet key. owner’s manual. Chilton Manual. Pelican Parts Book on minor mods. I also have the fault code reader and service reset tool as well as a bunch of small/spare parts and weather stripping rubber and tools. · New Kuhmo rear tires – 2014 · New Radiator – 2014 – (Uses NPG Waterless Coolant – has never over heated) · New Belts – 2014 · New Idler Pulleys - 2014 · New Power Steering Reservoir and Fluid Flush – 2014 · Replaced Oil Filter housing gasket – 2014 · New blacked out kidney grill Inserts and lower bumper mesh - 2014 · Driveshaft Flex Disk – Guibo - 2013 · Front Lower Control Arm Bushings - 2013 · Rear Trailing Arm Bushings – 2013 · Front and Rear Shocks – Original Sachs – 2012 · Sony Stereo with Blue Tooth and Hands Free calling with Microphone – 2012 · Front under carriage cover and fender liners – 2012 · Heater Blower replaced - 2012 · AC Control repaired – 2012 · New Battery - 2012 · Hard top headliner - 2010 · Convertible top motor – 2009 Prior work includes: · Hard top hardware installed – 2007 · Power Steering hoses replacement – 2006 · Belt replacement – 2006 · New factory Convertible Top – 2005 · Custom two tone interior with embroidered M3 Interior - 2005 · Camshaft position sensor – 2005 The not so good: · It is a 17 year old car so paint is not perfect. although it still shines and turns heads. It has the expected nicks and scratches in par with its age. I would call it a 10 footer… · A/C does not blow cold. looks to be a compressor leak – have not needed it in Flagstaff so have not fixed it. Will probably need new compressor · Rear wheel bearings starting to get loose and may need replacement. · One of the rear wheels has defective clear coat that looks like it’s crystallized. · Soft Top rear window a little faded. but not broken. · Convertible top currently not working. may be limit switch. I put it down manually and just use the hard top. I will continue trying to get it to work until I sell it. · Shifter sometimes stays slightly to the right of center due to a faulty bushing. but eventually snaps back into place. Not an issue once you get used to it. The repair cost is not warranted as it is not that big of an issue. I have had it on the to-do list waiting to do it together with a short sifter install. but never did that. Please ask any questions before bidding. No warranties written or implied. Please make sure you have the cash prior to bidding. No scammers. I reserve the right to end the auction early as I have the car posted elsewhere. Thanks for looking!
