Description

Selling my 1997 BMW 318i convertible, s I drive the 750i most all the time now. This is a fun car to drive, t is small in size, as the M44 four-cylinder motor (not the 6 cylinder) which is very reliable, ut this isn't a fast car. It also is fairly small compared to new cars. I wanted this motor though, s it is efficient, as a timing chain, same motor they used at first in the Z-3). These cars are stiffly sprung and really handle. But if you are not familiar with them, o drive, s they can be "rough riding" to those not used to the feel of an older BMW. Automatic which makes it more of a cruiser than a racer. Everything works cruise control, eated seats, ights and gauges all fine. Occasionally the check engine will go on but goes away depending on gas brand. I'm using Exxon regular and it runs fine and "check engine" light is out. I had it checked and it is the "sensor" in the exhaust. If I get Chevron it comes on, tc., o I have not changed it out. There are no leaks of oil or water at all. I did replace the windshield about 3 years ago when it got rock hit. I replaced the top awhile ago, ut as you can see there are now some gaps in the back seat area. I think this may be due to these new tops being not exactly cut to size. The top was a professional job from a local shop, bout $1500 if I recall. But now I have these gaps. Also, ight up near the top front corners I get a drip. The top is manual. I suspect the rubber may need to be replaced around that area? Like I said i drive the 750i now all the time and it's not worth it to me to fool with this. It will need new tires as are worn. I put Falkens on the back maybe 3 years ago, nd the Michelins in front are fine, ut worn. Tires are not expensive for this car. I use my local BMW Dealer for oil and filter changes. Also replaced the front brake pads maybe 2 years ago? when that lamp came on in the dash panel. (BMW Dealer here did the work). I've never had an accident, ut the back trunk lid was replaced and the rear area re-painted when neighbor backed into the car while parked. She hit the trunk at about 1 m.ph., ut it dented it right at the lip. So local body shop did the work, nsurance, t was about $1500 if i recall and most of that expense was due to re-painting. & Recently I backed over a small sign stake in a parking lot and it made a ding/scratch on back bumper, ee picture. I am the 3rd owner i believe, have owned for about 6 years or so.
TERMS of SALE:
(note) I will need to keep the license plate to turn in to my local motor vehicles. you can go by with me or arrange to have a temporary tag according to your state. I will sign over title to you at funds exchange.
You are responsible for transporting the car. I can drive to a local wal-mart lot to make the transfer. If not happy you don't have to buy. But once money has changed hands then sale is final. sorry, ut no warranty. Accept only a certified bank check or will take a personal check ahead of pick up, ut you must allow it to clear before taking the car. Nice car for someone willing to put up with the drips or will service it to make rain tight. Other than that just needs tires. I have not washed it! I will go through the car wash though, nd vacuum, nd fill up with gas.
