Description

Up for auction is a beautiful 1953 Cadillac series 62 4DR. automatic 4 speed with 331 V8 4bl. Runs and drives great. motor runs cool on 95 degree days. My wife and I pick this car up in Texas couple of years ago from nice gentlemen and had it shipped back to Connecticut where it resides. When we got the car I was told it had a newly rebuilt engine it and so was the transmission. It looks and runs like new with no oil burning or ticking of any kind; I was not given any receipts to prove this but by looking at it you can tell it was out of the car. The tranny shifts through all four gears nice and cruises at 70/75 mph with ease. I can't tell you the right mileage on the car or the motor because the odometer was broke when we got it and still is. but the speedometer works fine. I'm guessing we put on 5. 6 thousand since we got it. We didn't drive it in the winter months; we put it in dry storage from October through March. The car is 12 volts and has a alternator not a generator in it plus the battery is only two years old. I did all the drum brakes over when we got it and just put in a new master cylinder before going into storage. I stop’s on a dime; e-brake holds great too. I did new power steering hoses. upper and lower radiator hoses. stat. water pump and new antifreeze. It has electronic ignition (NO POINTS) I installed electronic cutouts in the exhaust that exit by the back wheels. just push the button and you have open exhaust. it sounds so cool. All the windows roll up and down and all the glass is good except there is a small crack in the passenger side rear window. The fuel gage works fine and so does the temp and oil. The headliner is starting to fall down but the interior is in good shape. Driver seat won't go back and forth. stuck all the way back. The paint is nice and shiny but there is some scratches and some chips. minor dent in roof and both low fenders (from shipping). The Chrome is all nice (some pieces are missing) with little pitting starting on the center front bumper. I installed Newport electric wipers and work great. I installed external electric fuel pump under the car so it's starts right up after sitting for long periods of time. The heating system in not working at all (missing blower motor) all the lights work. blinkers and horn plus has working reverse lights. Tires where new when we got it and are still at 90 percent tread life. The car has a rust and rot free body with no bondo patches as pictured. it runs and drives fine and you can drive it home if you fly in. Car gets 15 mpg on the highway and you can drive it over 70mph with ease. My wife and I had the car up to 101 on my G. P. S and it still wanted to keep going. Car comes with notarized bill of sale and a copy of current registration. I can get a title in your name if needed but will take 2/4 weeks from DMV and you have to buy the car first for me to put it in your name to get the title. Car is located in Wallingford. CT and please call me if you like to see it in person at 203 487 0834. I have the right to end this auction early. car is listed locally for sale. Cash talks! Please ask questions before bidding. I described this car as best to my knowledge. I can hold the car for a month if needed. Will sell overseas. Car is sold as/is no warranty.
