Divorce forces sale. 1951 FORMER U.S. Air Force Cadillac Ambulance. Built by A. J. Miller Company of Bellefontaine, hio, rior to its purchase by Wayne Works in 1954, hen the mark became Miller-Meteor.
Rust free, tored for decades in the Nevada high desert. Three owners before me: the Air Force, n ambulance company, collector. Purported to be extremely low miles, wing to it sitting on a flight line, nd used infrequently thereafter. There are two (2) sets of pictures on this auction:
1. eBay Photos which show the restoration
2. An embedded link to PhotoBucket which shows the original condition of the car when it was rescued.
Original unrestored condition of the coach can be found here:
Frame-off restoration in progress. Underside of body, heel wells and firewall have already been top-coated. Only a the mild modification of paint choice (under the hood and beneath the car), arburation and exhaust were contemplated. All else was to remain completely stock.
All receipts come with the car. '
Body was taken off the frame and sandblasted and primed. Frame was subjected to high temps to burn off grease, and-blasted and powder-coated.
Interior was removed, loor was primed with Red Oxide Primer. New 5' x 9' 3/4" Plywood deck custom-fit to replace the original

Two parts cars (a 1950 Cadillac Sedan and a 1951 Cadillac Superior Hearse) were purchased and sold to harvest parts for this project. Both were sold to a single owner who still may be able to provide additional parts. Most new glass still required. Car is in secure, overed storage in Santa Clara, California, ot in Burlingame, s stated elsewhere on the auction.
Car rolls. All parts listed above are packed and secured within the rig which should shipped in an covered carrier. The headliner (for matching purposes) headliner ribs, nrestored front seat, oor panels, wo rear benches (which have been powder-coated white) along with interior panels are stored in Burlingame, A and would have to be shipped independently or picked up at buyer's cost. One interior plywood piece on the passenger side would need to be replaced. Still needs alternator, istributor, xhaust manifold/headers, xhaust (frame previously accommodated dual exhaust). No emergency equipment is included in the sale--the car had none when I purchased it. The other Cadillac Miller-Meteor Ambulance I own recently won "Best of Show" at a Cadillac LaSalle Club meet, nd I had intended this one to at least win a People's Choice award given the color change. Your options are:
A. Part it out.
B. Get it running in black primer and scare your neighbors.
C. Continue with the slight modification
D. Repaint in stock colors
