Vinyl Interior SELLER REMARKS Many growing households in the 70's were forced to give up Corvettes or Camaros and look at more practical family vehicles. Thankfully. we had vehicles like this 1970 Chevrolet Kingswood that provided practicality without sacrificing on V8 power. Station wagons have seen a rapid rise in popularity as of late. This Kingswood station wagon can comfortably seat eight making it perfect for events like the Hot Rod Power Tour. Coated in the original paint color of code #55 Gold. with Woodgrain siding. this Kingswood is in fantastic shape considering most of these were used and abused by large families. The woodgrain paneling follows the sides around to the back two-way tailgate. When opened from the side. the gate has a cutout allowing easy access to the third row seating. or a step up to be able to access the luggage rack. The chrome work is bright and shiny including the luggage rack on the roof and for this car being over 40 years old it is a spectacular driver. This 70's beauty features a well-preserved and original Saddle colored vinyl interior. The bench seats are clean and ready to be packed full for a road trip including the optional third row seating that does in fact face backward offering the passengers a completely different view. The door panels. dash. and steering wheel all have some wood veneer inlay offering a more top of the line feeling. The dash appears to have all the original gauges. This Kingswood left the factory as a highly optioned unit including power steering. power rear window. air conditioning. and the wonderful AM radio. The second and third row seating fold down flat allowing ample room for anything that needs hauling. and the carpet still looks plush and clean. With a vehicle this large you would expect it would need V8 power. and thankfully. that is exactly what is nestled under the hood. While we are unable to say definitively that the engine is numbers matching. we can say that this 400 cubic inch V8 is at least period correct. and very well could be the original powerplant. The engine looks completely factory. covered in the famous Chevrolet orange and still wearing the correct 400ci decal in the flat black engine bay. The small block sends power to what is believed to be the original automatic transmission. Stopping power is supplied by the power disc brakes in the front and power drum brakes in the rear. In front of those brakes you'll find 15" Rally wheels wrapped in 225/70/R15 rubber. This blast from the past is clean and not overly done. and it brings a smile to many of our faces that remember traveling in a wagon back in the day.
