Description

This is a surplus Military M-1028 Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicle (CUCV). Look them up on google for all the details. This one has been 'prettied' up with a camo vinyl wrap and some extras which I list below. I'll do my best to list all the new parts/extra and also all the imperfections/issues below. This truck has power steering and brakes. a heater and is rated to 1. 25 tons. The 6. 2L Detroit diesel engine is connected to a 3-speed automatic transmission. It has a 20 gallon fuel tank and is 4 wheel drive with manual locking hubs. I had a new $4K crate transmission put in about 1. 5 years ago. It has a new ignition switch and 2 fairly new 1000 CCA commercial batteries. Extras/Cool Features:- Camo vinyl wrap - cost about $3K- New winch- 2 New Off Road Lights with inside switch- 4 almost brand new Interco SUPER SWAMPER tires with 1 brand new spare- 4 Original spare tires- New CB radio w/ antenna- Big Sky Shotgun Rack mounted to ceiling- Truck cap- New dash- New door panels- New seat cover- 2 5 gallon fuel tanks mounted to exterior- Comes with shovel/ax mouted to inside of cap with gear box- New fire extinguisher and mount- Maglite and mounts- Glock 19 under dash holster- Brush guard- Internal switch to black out all the lights (including brakes) - from it's military daysImperfections:- There are some imperfections with the vinyl wrap. There is some wear and tear around the wheels and along some of the seams - not a big deal but worth mentioning- This is an OLD truck that was beat to crap while in service - there are a ton of body (interior and exterior) imperfections. All kinds of dents. etc. This is not a restored truck so don't expect it to look new- The interior is a mix of new and old parts but I think looks great- Wheels are rusting in some places- There is a short in the ignition chain somewhere. I can always get it to start but sometimes have to try a few times. I no longer have time to fiddle. - The cap has a couple gashes in it but does not affect function. - Speedometer needle is broken. You can still tell how fast you're going by the remaining small nub from where it broke off. I drive this truck all the time and it's a beast. Would make a great farm truck or project. I've never driven it longer than a 2 hour road trip. Even though I think it would make it I certainly won't guarantee it'll make a long haul. It does have a temporary internal glow plug switch to help start the engine in cold weather. Lights work. heater works. wipers work. 4WD works. brakes and brake lights works. turning signals work. black out switch works. The SUPER SWAMPER tires are in like new condition are work a couple grand on their own. The winch is brand new. The CB is brand new. It has a military pintle hitch. This thing doesn't like to go much faster than about 55 mph simply because how it's geared. If you're not familiar with the old military CUCVs you should search around online and read about them. This one is the M1028 model. This is a good old truck but still needs lots of love. You can come look by appointment only. Will be happy to give you a drive. I leave the day after Thanksgiving and if it's not sold by then it will not be available for sale again until after April. What questions do you have? I will consider all offers.
