1966 was the first year for the legendary 427ci big block engine in the Chevrolet Corvette. This 427cubic inch 390hp L36 Corvette Stingray roadster was built on March 1, 966 in St. Louis, issouri and delivered to East Point Chevrolet in East Point, A.

Most recently this car has spent the past decade between several owners in Arizona, lorida and North Carolina and along the way has undergone a complete restoration. The L36 (390hp) motor was actually rated at 400hp when it was first introduced, owever due to insurance considerations it was down-rated to 390hp without any changes to the motors.

The 390hp/427ci motor features hydraulic lifters and a single 4 barrel carburetor making it low maintenance and not in need of constant tuning like the solid lifter, igher horsepower version of the 427. Most who have driven both the 390hp and 425hp motors prefer the 390hp motor on the street because of its abundance of low-end torque. These lower horsepower cars actually make more torque at lower RPM’s than their higher horsepower, igher revving counterparts (427ci/425hp)- making them as fast if not faster on the street.

This car features excellent silver pearl paint, 4-speed Muncie M20 transmission, actory side pipes, ast aluminum knock-off wheels and a teak wood steering wheel.

The chrome shows as new and is mirror-like in appearance. The black vinyl convertible top is in excellent condition and is simple to operate. Vintage air-conditioning was added that blows cold on hot summer days and looks like it belongs this car. The interior of this car is correct with black vinyl seats that are in excellent condition with the original seat belts. All of the gauges are crystal clear and work perfectly, ven the clock.
