This Camaro was originally an RS/SS 350 car. The complete and original numbers matching engine has been removed and retained, nd goes with the car.

BODY: The car is an original code “79” rallye green exterior, hich has been repainted to the factory hue in a base coat clear coat. Both rear quarters have been professionally replaced with original NOS GM quarters, ot reproductions. Both front fenders have been replaced with original NOS GM RS fenders. The front floor pans and trunk pans have been replaced. The car has a completely new RS hideaway headlight system, hat unfortunately remains temperamental. Other items replaced with new components include: brake booster and master cylinder, ll brake lines and hoses, heel cylinders and proportioning valve, ower steering pump and quick ratio steering gear box, ilt column, our core radiator and shroud, ew AC box and some components, ll new wiring harnesses from the firewall forward, ront inner wheel wells, iper motor, as tank with sending unit, runk mat, ll weather stripping, onvertible top, ith new pump, ylinders and hoses, nd new top boot still in the box. The body is super straight and the paint is a 9.5 to 10 with near perfect gaps all around. The doors are still hard to close due to the new weather stripping, ut swing freely and need no adjustments. The exterior door handles, irrors, ear quarter grills, ear bumper guards, nd backup light bezels are original to the car. The windshield molding and rear top body molding are new reproduction. The rear bumper, icense plate door assembly, nd RS taillight assemblies have been replaced with new reproduction pieces. The windshield was replaced with a new glass, ut the door glass and rear quarter glass were not replaced for this build.

INTERIOR: The car originally came with a medium green interior, hich has been totally replaced with a white / ivory interior, ncluding new seat covers front and back, ew custom door panels and fuzzies, ew seat backs, ew complete headrests, ew automatic console (retains original factory horseshoe shifter and gauge package), ew AC kick panels, ew rear view mirror, ew steering wheel, ew radio delete plate, ew pedal covers, ew sill plates, ew door welts, ew window cranks, nd miscellaneous small trim pieces. The dash is original to the car and shows some age, ut is not split or cracked. The instrument cluster surround is original to the car, nd shows some age. The clock does not work, nd the tach is finicky below 2K when the drivetrain is cold.

DRIVETRAIN: The current drivetrain consists of a 427 ci COPO tribute engine, ased on a 1969 “512” block with correct rectangular port heads, ntake, nd most exterior engine components. The block has been bored and align honed with deck plates. The crankshaft is a GM 427 forged steel piece, ith stock GM rods updated with ARP fasteners, nd TRW forged pistons. Final compression ratio is approximately 10.5: 1. The large valve rectangular port heads were re-worked with a 3-angle valve job and new OEM valves and double springs. The remaining valvetrain is made up a Comp Cams Extreme Energy 246 hydraulic camshaft, omp Cams push rods, nd new OEM rockers. A Holley carb, actory points type distributor retrofitted with a Pertronix conversion and rev limiter, EM chrome valve covers and reproduction open element air cleaner complete the engine. The exhaust exists through factory cast iron manifolds, o dual 2.5” exhaust pipes with Flowmasters.

The transmission is a crate B&M Street and Strip TH400 rated to 600hp.

The rearend is the factory 12 bolt, ith a new Auburn posi, nd a new Richmond 3.55:1 gearset, ith all new races and bearings.

SUSPENSION: Sub-frame connectors have been tastefully installed (bolted and welded) for rigidity, long with the factory X brace. New shocks, eaf springs, hackles, ront springs, ll bushings and front end components were replaced. The wheels are new American Racing Magnum 500s, 7 X 8 with 4.5 BS and 17 X 9.5 with 5.5 BS. The directional tires are Nitto NT555s, 35/45ZR17 on the front and 285/40ZR17 on the rear.
