For sale: 69 Chevrolet C10 4x4 original survivor western truck from the high desert of California. Sold new and lived in Lancaster. California and made it's way to dry Montana. land of the sagebrush and prickly pear cactus. It's an honest. good running. V8 power steering/brake 98 percent rust free daily driver. Original build sheet still in the seat back. Truck has been adult owned by an older fellow and used sparingly for dump runs and the occasional load of wood. I've seen many of these trucks. and this is one of the driest trucks I've run across during 35 years in the hobby. If you're tired of the usual fluffed-up Ebay rust buckets. give this truck a look. I'll do my best to describe this special truck below. Exterior: Honest truck with faded ORIGINAL paint with just the right patina. Nothing hidden or covered up. what you see is what you get. Rare U01 factory cab marker light option. Straight truck overall with the usual dings from years of use. Only rust I can see (and I know where to look) is outside edge of driver floor. nbsp;small surface rust on passenger floor. and pinhole in driver side rocker. Never seen salt. driver floor typically rusts at edge where moisture from snow on boots melts and collects there under floor mat. **SEE BELOW LINK FOR UNDERSIDE PICS** Box has wood floor and some of the boards are cracked and missing. Wheel wells are in good shape and not beat to death. Chrome trim is in fair driver condition with zero pitting and a few dings. Needs front bumper. but they're cheap. Extra hole in cowl and top of roof where CB antennas were. Rally wheels are excellent with new rings and caps. Have original wheels and hubcaps if you want those instead. or have both sets for additional cost. Glass is good except windshield. I can have a new windshield and rubber installed here locally for $193 if you want. Overall a super solid truck and ready to use as is. Doors close like a bank vault!Interior: Original and showing the typical wear. Crack in dash pad as shown. seat has rips in the vinyl under the cover but is not worn out or broken down. I removed original floor mat. which was pretty torn. to show the floor condition. Most everything seems to work from what I can tell except radio and horn. Wipers. heater blower. gauges. etc functional. Original build sheet showing California lineage still present in seat back. I didn't try to remove. Ready to use as is till you can restore with readily available parts from LMC or similar vendor. Mechanical: Starts. runs. drives and stops and can use as is. Desirable V8. nbsp;4 speed. power steering and brakes. Truck was stored for several years and I just spent a substantial amount having it gone over by professional mechanic. Complete inspection and full service was performed along with carb rebuild. Original 350 was replaced at some point by a later motor that seems to run fine with no major smoke or leaks and has good oil pressure - does have the typical Chevy faint piston/wrist pin noise when cold that quiets down when fully warm. I don't have the original numbers matching motor. 4 speed transmission shifts great and 4x4 works fine. transfer case does whine at higher speeds. There is a power steering hose leak and one from transfer case seal that will each leave spots on driveway. Brakes do pull on hard stops. Truck is tight with few squeaks or rattles. LT235 all season radial tires have decent tread and will last a season or two. one is different brand. Rally wheels are excellent with new caps and rings. I do have the original wheels. hubcaps and bias ply 7. 00-15 traction tires that could be substituted for ralleys or included for additional cost. Truck is bone stock save for Performer aluminum intake and chrome valve covers and air cleaner. Shocks appear newer. as do hoses. belts. and battery. Hard-to-find original fan shroud is intact. There is an aftermarket second fuel tank. but running just off the main and haven't tried the other tank. I don't have a key for the auxiliary fuel door. With gas being cheaper now. this truck would be a legitimate daily driver. It pulls about 10mpg in town. Be prepared for a lot of thumbs up from legions of Chevy truck fans out there while you drive and restore it. Pricing/Misc: I got a good deal on this rig and you will too. The 67-72 Chevy is one of the toughest trucks to find. nbsp;especially clean. nbsp;straight and mostly rust free. Reserve is under $3900 for quick sale on this truck. The value here is the money you don't have to spend because you're buying a solid truck to start your restoration with. Transport is readily available and probably cheaper than fixing rust on a Midwest or East Coast truck. Title is clear and open with no liens. signed off by previous owner and ready to fill your name in as purchaser. After the sale. I can store the truck outside for up to 30 days free. after that $100 per month storage will be due. I ASSUMED SINCE THE SEAT WAS SADDLE AND HADN'T APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN OUT THAT IT WAS ORIGINAL. THE VIN ISN'T VISIBLE ON THE BUILD SHEET. SO I CAN'T BE SURE. ALSO THE MODEL NUMBER ON THE BUILD SHEET SAYS CS10934 (C SERIES 8 FOOT BOX) AND THE SPID TAG SAYS MODEL KE10934 (K SERIES 8 FOOT BOX). WHEN I PULLED THE COVER BACK FURTHER THE SEAT HAS BEEN RECOVERED AT ONE POINT. SO IF YOU HAVE CONCERNS FEEL FREE TO CANCEL YOUR BID. OR ASK ME AND I WILL CANCEL IT. MAY BE THAT THIS TRUCK IS A MONTANA DRY VEHICLE WITH NO CALIFORNIA HISTORY. WE ONLY GET 10 INCHES TOTAL PRECIPITATION A YEAR IN THIS ARID COUNTRY. AND NO SALT IS USED ON THE ROADS. SO IT'S JUST AS DRY HERE IN THIS PART OF THE WEST. THANKS*******************
