Description

1950 Chevrolet Pickup
Up for auction here is a very unique 1950 Chevrolet Pickup. If you do not like to attract a lot of attention then this is not the vehicle for you. When completed this truck will be the main attraction everywhere you drive it. There has been a lot of time and money put into this and it will not take much to finish it.This is a project and will need to be trailered or hauled on a vehicle transporter.Starting with the exterior, t is obvious that it has some nice looking patina. The body has had some work done to it a long time ago. Some of the work is starting to show through which is what gives it the unique look you see. If you desire, he body panels are all fixable and could be finished out to a show car finish. There is no major body damage at all, ust a few dings. There is some rust in the usual areas, ottoms of the fenders and cab corners but it's nothing major. Personally I would never touch the body because all of those flaws just add character. Everything opens and closes as it should except for the tailgate, hich was tack welded shut. These tacks could always be cut loose to make the tailgate functional again. All of the glass is in good shape except for the drivers side window. I do have a new piece that is included but did not install it yet in case someone likes the look of the cracked one. I also have the front and rear bumpers but did not install those yet either. All new hardware was used to reassemble the truck. You could have it stripped down to the bare frame in less than an hour if need be.
The chassis is the main selling point of the truck, s this is where most of the money was spent. The frame was completely blasted to bare metal and sprayed with a tough urethane paint that's as durable and chemical resistant as powdercoat. The front suspension consists of a Mustang II front clip with stainless steel a-arms and power steering rack from Speedway Motors. The rear is a 4 link and notch setup from Gambino Kustoms. Air ride is supplied at all 4 corners. For the time being it's plumbed into two manual valves, o airing it up and moving it around is no problem. The whole air suspension control setup is included with the sale. This includes: electric air valves, ir compressor, ir tank, ir lines, witch panel with two gauges, nd all the wiring to hook it up. The truck sits overnight and does not leak air so transporting it will not be a problem. When the truck is fully deflated the running boards lay on the ground. Aired up the truck has plenty of clearance to overcome any speed bump or incline to a drive.
The drivetrain is nicely updated and will make blasting down the highway a breeze. The engine is a 5.3L Vortec removed from a 2003 Chevy Silverado with just 67k miles on it. The transmission is a 4L60E and came from the same vehicle. Both were in excellent working condition when removed. The engine has a set of Sanderson shorty headers on it, nd a nice set of bolts on motor mounts. The transmission has a new custom crossmember made for it as well. The wiring harness was sent out andprofessionallymodified to run as a stand alone, ith all labeled connectors for an easy install. The computer was also sent out to be reflashed and all emissions removed. The radiator is a brand new bolt in aluminum unit that was made for this truck and also has a built in transmission cooler. The rear end is a Ford 8.8 posi with 3:73 gears. I did not get a driveshaft made for the truck. I was going to have a two piece shaft made but you could do it however you like. The truck also has 4 wheel disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors. The master cylinder and booster is a frame mounted unit. This will really make the underside of the hood look clean when completed. There is also stainless steel brake lines for the front calipers that were not installed yet. The whole truck will need to have brake lines and fuel lines ran. Also included is an aluminum fuel cell that is ready to work with the fuel injection motor. The wheels and tires are brand new. The wheels are Wheel Vintiques Smoothies, 6x7 all around with baby moon caps. The front tires are a 215/55/R16 and the rears are 225/60R16 to give it a bit of a hot rod rake. The tires do not rub at all even when completely dropped on the ground.
The interior was also left all original so you can personalize the truck in your own way. The seat is in really good condition so you could leave it or recover it more to your liking. The floor is nice and solid and the gas tank has been removed from behind the seat. The steering column was also removed but a brand new chrome tilt steering column is included. The original gauges are still in there also so you can hook those back up or you could put new ones in its place. The panel right above the front windshield is rusty on the inside but could always be replaced with a replacemnt panel or left the way it is. Also included is a brand new vehicle harness that is fully labeled with instructions. The windows roll up and down and all the handles work.
A couple weekends with some buddies you could have this truck running and driving. All the pieces are here to have a high dollar, xcellent driving rat rod. These trucks bring real good money once completed, o there is even a chance to make some money with this truck. I can assist with loading of the vehicle and I can work with a transporter company if shipping is needed. If you have any questions at all please feel free to contact me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks for taking a look at the auction and have a great day!
