Overview

This is an unstoppable all-weather, ll-purpose vehicle for large and small families, r for business owners, rofessionals, r anyone else who needs to be able to go anywhere, n any weather, for any reason, ith everything they need to carry, n perfect comfort.
Phenomenal performance in blizzards, eep snow, orrential rain, ce, lush, leet, tc, tc, tc.
We operate a defense-contracting and logistics business based in Ann Arbor, I. We bought this vehicle to get us through the ferocious "polar vortex" winter of 2013-2014. It performed beyond our expectations, nd we have ended up keeping it for two years. On one occasion we drove it through a massive blizzard, ith a trailer full of cargo hitched up to it, rom Michigan to Columbus, hio, hen onward through the mountains of West Virginia to make a delivery to Amazon.com in Richmond VA. It snowed a total of 15-18 inches but the vehicle never once gave us any trouble, nd the only thing that slowed us down was stopping on numerous occasions to pull other vehicles out of the snow. There's nothing like the feeling of security and confidence you get when passing dozens of other stranded "all-season" vehicles that just can't handle the weather because they don't have enough ground clearance, r they only have front-wheel drive, tc.
History
We bought the vehicle in January 2014 from a large Michigan-based chain of dealers ("Suburban Ford") and have used it for long-distance road trips, or towing a 16-foot enclosed trailer, nd for making deliveries of valuable cargo (military supplies and equipment) that we did not want to leave in the bed of a pickup truck. It has worked great for us, nd many of our employees have also used it for family vacations, amping trips, nd other trips of that nature. We have performed all required maintenance, nd replaced all required wear items such as brake pads / rotors, all joints, ires, tc, uring the two years we've owned it.
It has always been a pleasure to drive. The front-end is tight, he steering has excellent feedback, nd overall it has a very car-like driving manner. You get the rare combination of low step-in height, o you're not climbing up into it like a jacked-up truck, s well as a commanding view of the road. It has another 200,000 miles left in it. We could keep it another 8-10 years and be perfectly happy. In the end, hough, e just haven't used it as much as we thought we would. For the most part, arious employees use it to commute 20 minutes to work each day, nd that's a total waste. We have four vehicles and we really only need two. So, e're going to keep the oldest / most depreciated ones for the next 10 years and run them into the ground, nd find a new home for this Suburban, uch as a large family or a business that has a 24/7 need for a vehicle with this much capability. We're asking a lot for it, ecause of the overall running condition and exceptional cleanliness, nd we think serious buyers will respect that.
Features
Seating for up to 7 adults, hildren, tc. The 3rd row seats can stow vertically / horizontally or come out altogether, hen not needed. XM Radio, D player (which also plays MP3-CD's), ose speakers, udio input jack, teering wheel audio controls, nd Row DVD Player with two headphone jacks. Leather seats. Sunroof. Cruise Control.
Dual-zone climate controls, lus a separate rear control, o you'll never argue with your spouse / kids or colleagues again.... at least about the heat or A/C. Powerdriver's seat, mirrors, ocks, river's key with remote fob -- including remote start, hich is great in the winter.
Class III towing receiver with 4 and 7-pin trailer connectors. 8,000-pound tow rating. We have towed as much as 6,000 pounds without any drama. Tire-pressure monitoring system (TPMS) will tell you the exact PSI in each tire, o you'll know when you need to air up, lthough slow leaks have not been an issue for us. (The tires are Yokohamas that are 1 year old and have about 75-80% tread life remaining.)
AutoTrak 4 Wheel Drive with traction control and low-range. Set it and forget it.... when 4WD is needed, t will activate automatically and seamlessly.
135 cubic feet of cargo capacity (max), 5 cubic feet with all seats in place. Automatic transmission. 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS. Alloy wheels. Automatic headlights... set 'em and forget 'em. Child seat anchors. Etc, tc, tc
Performance, PG
The Suburban is equipped with a 5.3 liter V-8 engine with 310 horsepower, .e. "A Real American Car with Real American MPG" to quote the original RoboCop from the '80s..... actually we've seen up to 18-20mpg on the highway with unleaded regular fuel....... but if you need this car, uel economy is not an issue you probably worry about. It uses a single cam with pushrods to operate the valvetrain, o there is NO TIMING BELT to wear out and fail unexpectedly, ending / breaking valves and causing thousands of dollars in repairs. FlexFuel (E85) capable -- save up to $1/gal on fuel.... but you'll give up some MPG's.
The vehicle has not been modified, ouped up, riced out," lifted, hipped, eprogrammed, tc. It is in OEM condition in every way. We've never taken it mud-boggin', and-dune crushin', ock-crawlin', oal rollin', r subjected it to abuse of any kind. We're all grown-ups here, any of us are military veterans, nd we have had all the excitement we need for one lifetime without feeling the need to get behind the wheel and act like fools.
The engine and transmission appear to be original, nd they have not given us any significant trouble, uch as blue smoke, ard shifting, esitation, lat spots, oughness, talling, tc. If you read the forums, ou'll see that 5.3L Suburbans of this vintage have had battery-life issues, ut (fortunately) we have not experienced any. However, e have noticed that it burns approx 1 quart of oil every 500-700 miles, o we end up adding about $15 worth of oil between oil changes. This condition has not gotten better or worse in the 2 years we have owned the vehicle. The dashboard computer will notify you when it's time to add oil.
Full Disclosure
(1) From a check of the CarFax report, t appears that the vehicle was originally leased for 2 years, hen had two other owners before we purchased it in January 2014. Also from the CarFax report, t appears that there was an impact to the right-front of the vehicle, 1/2 years ago in mid-2009. We have never seen any indications of trouble, is-aligned body panels, r front-end / suspension issues, bnormal tire wear, tc. (2) The vehicle has only one key, nd one remote. (3) There are some rust spots on the vehicle, ut as of now it has nothing that makes feel the need to do anything. (4) Oil consumption as indicated above. (5) There are minor nicks, cratches, nd imperfections as you would expect in a vehicle with this age and mileage (although the overall finish and cleanliness are stellar). Most notably, he bottom edge of the rear bumper has a small imperfection / "stretch mark," about 1/3 of the way from the rear left corner. Refer to the pictures.

Do not bid to inspect -- bid to buy. If you want to inspect the vehicle, hich we do encourage, lease do so personally or send a friend / mechanic, efore the end of the sale and not afterward. It costs us money to list on eBay..... a bid is a contract.... and we will be forced to take action against non-paying bidders, eople who flake out, hakedown artists, ickel-and-dimers, cammers, nd hustlers who ruin the auction experience for everyone else.
