Description

This beautiful 1969 Corvette convertible is looking for a new owner to care for it and enjoy it. Due to knee and ankle problems enjoying the car has become problematic so it's best for the car to find someone who can enjoy it as I have for the last twelve years. It's earned between 30-40 trophies and plaques during that time and has given a lot of "oohs" and "ahhhs" when driven and shown. The car is numbers matching. the L71 427 435hp engine was rebuilt by a prior owner and I have the receipts. It's Riverside Gold with a black vinyl interior. I've installed an Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo with Boston Acoustic speakers in the kick panels. I have the original AM/FM radio and console bezel which will go with the car. One rear brake caliper has been replaced but I have the original which will go with the car as well. The car comes with all the maintenance records since I've owned the car plus a copy of the original sales invoice. copies of all previous titles. I'm the fourth titled owner. I purchased the car in 2003 but the title reads 2005 as I got married and had the title changed to reflect both our names. The original window sticker is there as is a piece of the tank sticker. Also present are receipts for the engine rebuild. bored . 030" over. the original M21 HD 4-speed transmission rebuild. gas tank replacement. the three carburetors rebuilt by Holley. It has a Crane L88 spec camshaft installed with cam data card. The camshaft change honestly makes for a somewhat cranky engine but it really breathes as rpm's pick up. The power band for the camshaft is 4400-7000 rpm's which is higher than I drive it. I've babied the car and it looks like prior owners have as well. The car has received a repaint but the interior appears original. I would say on a scale of 1-10. the body. paint and interior are a 9. 5 out of 10. Neither is perfect but very close to it. I've enjoyed the car. it hasn't been a trailer queen. though I've only added maybe 4000 local miles on it in twelve years. The car has five matching tires and the spare has not been on the ground. The car has a replacement vinyl convertible top in excellent condition. I do not have the original hard top the car came with from the factory but do have a replacement hard top. but will need to be painted to match as it's a different color. It's in excellent condition but does need new rubber seals as well as the correct color. The top is stored on a rolling car made for it. which will go with the car as well. The car is NOT equipped with power steering and came from the factory without it. It's not a problem when in motion but does take a bit of effort otherwise. not excessive but you know you're not driving a power steering equipped car. The only issues the car has are three. the windshield wipers only work occasionally so there must be a ground or other wiring problem. I only drive the car in good weather so it's never been high on my "to-do" list. The second is the headlights go up and down until the engine warms up then they work normally. The third is the windshield wiper door stays up when the engine is running. I've followed the vacuum connections and they appear to be correct so I've never found the cause. The K66 transistorized ignition has been replaced by a different electronic ignition. why. I can't say. but those ignitions have a reputation for being expensive to repair so I can only guess that's the reason. The car does run good and strong. The car has the extra cost deluxe P02 wheel covers which are in excellent condition. rare enough in itself. There is also a MSD 6A capacitive discharge ignition box hidden behind the passenger side of the dash. The car is factory equipped with:Soft-ray tinted glasspower windowsblack vinyl convertible top4. 11 rear axle ratio with positractionpower brakes435hp L71 engine4-speed close ration M21 HD transmissiontilt-telescoping steering wheelP02 wheel coversThis is genuinely a great example of a '69 Corvette. It appears to never have been abused in any way. A recognized Corvette expert has looked at the car inside and out and saw no signs of body work or evidence of any damage ever. He said it wouldn't take a lot of effort to make the car "Top-Flite" but that's never been important to me. This is a car to be proud of as-is. If you have any questions regarding this. please do not hesitate to ask. I also respectfully ask that no one make any off-eBay offers. I intend to let the auction run its course as that's the right thing to do.
