Description

Background: Five years ago I found this truck sitting in a driveway while picking in a small Sierra Nevada town. At that time the current owner (granddaughter of the second owner) told me that she was not interested in selling the truck. The truck was very sentimental. because her grandfather owned it since 1940! The truck has always been in California and roamed the streets in Galt. Ca back in the day. When her grandfather passed she was gifted the truck and brought it over to Valley Springs. Over the years I would stop in and see if the owner was ready to sell. The answer was still the same. she was not interested. Finally that day came. I was able to acquire the truck and now it is available to the public again after 75 years!Description: This 1937 Chevrolet pickup is fairly complete (missing only the original rear bumpers). all of the original "All Steel" sheet metal appears to be in very good shape considering the age of the vehicle. Sometime during its existence a small block Chevy engine (283) was installed with lake pipes (side exhaust). The engine is no longer any good. One of the heads was pulled off to address the piston that has a rather large hole in it. A three speed manual transmission (possibly out of a early corvette according to the previous owner) is still in the truck. There are signs of rust in the lower cab near the back of the front fender (very typical of this year). The original fuel tank and split bench seat are in the pickup. One of the planks in the bed floor was removed due to rot. The bed itself appears to be in good solid condition. Two of the stake pockets may need attention. The running boards are extremely straight. Title: Clean/Clear California TitleNotes:A truck like this is extremely hard to find in this condition. The new owner can either obtain a new motor and dial in the mechanicals and enjoy the truck in its current patina or go thru a restoration to return it back to its former glory. You can also turn it into a street rod. hot rod. but definitely not rat rod material. I have taken over 100 pictures of this truck. if there are additional photos or information please do not hesitate to contact me. This truck is listed in other publications therefore I reserve the right to end auction early. More Photos (Click on View All below the pictures to see large photos of the truck):
