Description

While reminiscing about our high-school days a couple of years ago, my wife and I, along with some adult beverages, decided it would be fun to find "the car to have" while we were in school and buy it. I found and bought a (1) owner, 100% original 1987 IROC, T-Tops, 5.7L, Red, Nicely Optioned car in northern Michigan. The original owner bought it new as a mid-life crisis and it was his sunny day car. It was not driven in the winter time. I'd say he was early 70s when he sold the car in 2014.

The car is not perfect. My opinion is it's about a (7). It has a few dings and small stone chips in the paint, some broken trim inside, other minor stuff. I knew that going in, but the fact that it was a 1-owner, older couple owned car with a lot of service records was enough for me. I bought this car with the intentions of doing a "driveway restoration" and bringing it back to showroom condition. I simply don't have time to mess with it.

We lived in Memphis when I bought it. I had a local shop (in MI) do a full service, changed all fluids and shocks prior to me picking-it up. We drove it home 1,000 miles with no issues, other than we realized how much we have gotten used to the modern conveniences in a car! Had to buy cassettes on ebay for tunes. Tops off and Eddie Money rocking us back to Memphis.

Once home, I had the wheels refinished as the original had some curb scars and mounted new BF Goodrich tires. Other than that, it's in the exact same condition I bought it. We put about 1,500 miles on it, including the trip home. Car runs good. We get more thumbs up and gawkers at gas stations than our other cars, which is pretty cool.

I paid $11,500 for the car and spent another $2,800 on it. I'm asking $11,500 for it. We now live in St-Cloud, MN and the car was hauled here in an enclosed trailer, along with our other cars & toys.
