Description

1969 Chevrolet Yenko Recreation Camaro with a real Yenko high performance 650hp 427 Can-Am ZL-1 #99 EngineIt is published that Yenko produced 198 total 1969 Camaros. this one is number 199. the one they never made with a ZL-1 Yenko engine #99. Up for auction is a 1969 SYCZL1 Yenko Camaro recreation. It has a YENKO CAN-AM engine (authentic Yenko engine with documentation) installed in this very clean. show condition 1969 Camaro X44 original base car (the correct X code for a Yenko. COPO or Motion Performance ordered Camaro). Under 3000 miles on the comprehensive build of this Camaro. This Yenko replica has been professionally evaluated and appraised in 2012 for $82. 00 by Auto Appraisers Network. Video :: Engine starting up & running video :: Body ::Finished in Lemans Blue (code 71) with white Yenko stripes. Originally a white with white interior car. Paint is in great shape. This Camaro was chosen to replicate a Yenko as it was an X44 car. Yenkos were X11. X66 or X44 cars. Everything works like it should on this Camaro. Even the courtesy lights. door buzzer (when the key is in the ignition) and the reverse lock-out feature (transmission has to be in reverse to remove the ignition key). very rare for these to still be working in an original Camaro. This Camaro is cosmetically close to perfect with some minor imperfections that could easily be addressed to be perfect. For example. there are some (very few) minor chips in the paint that have been touched up. Even in person. this Camaro appears in every way to be a real Yenko. it has the 427. Yenko and SYC (Yenko Super Car) badges present in all of the correct locations on the car. It also has a Yenko data plate mounted on the passenger side cowl. This Yenko recreation has period correct Torque Thrust Style Wheels with new Bf Goodrich radial tires. Interior :: Interior is in very nice condition. it has rarely been sat in. It has the appearance of an original Yenko interior with the Yenko optional correct SW gauges mounted under the dash and SYC badges in the optional headrests. Engine :: The engine compartment is in good condition and correctly detailed with original markings like a factory original 1969 Camaro. The chassis is in very clean and detailed condition as well. This is one clean Camaro. period. You might be able to duplicate this car as a clone. but not the engine very easily. Don Yenko improved on the ZL-1's design with better oiling and cooling and only produced a few 427 Can Am ZL1 engines in the late 60's and early 70's and this one is # 99 produced (Yenko serial number SYIC 99). These Yenko ZL-1 engines are exotic engines and it is believed that there are as few as less than ten of these engines left and quite possibly half of that number. These engines are extremely rare and so are the heads that were used on them. which are original to this block. There is a show board included in this auction that has information about the Can-Am ZL1 engine and shows the original sales receipts from Yenko for this actual engine. The block has no GM part numbers. it is only numbers specific to Yenko. This Yenko Can Am ZL-1 was been professionally built at the time of the cars build and is now a 496 cubic inch engine. The Yenko marking on the front of the block and the winters foundary marks are clear. Yenko is cast into the front of the blocks of Can-Am engines. This Camaro has Jet Hot Coated Hooker headers and dual exhaust. This engine has been dynoed but it was not revved higher than 5500 RPM's. it is estimated to have 650 plus horsepower and over 700 ft lbs of torque at peak RPM. Transmission & rear :: This Yenko Camaro recreation is equipped with a Muncie M22 rock crusher 4-Speed manual transmission and a 12-bolt posi-traction with 3:73 rear gears. power steering and power (front) disc brakes.
