Description

***1948 CHEVROLET 2 TON TRUCK 5-WINDOW RAT ROD PROJECT PARTS ESTATE VEHICLESTRAIGHT 6 ENGINE --- TWO SPEED REARAWESOME PROJECT OR PARTS VEHICLE --- STORED FOR YEARS --- NOT RUNNING*** This is a 1948 Chevy 2 ton truck. The owner passed away and the family asked me to list the truck. It is not running and it has no brakes. The vehicle will roll and the engine is not stuck. The truck was running about 10+ years ago. The top wood on the bed of the truck is rotted. The transmission is a floor shift. Rear looks to be a vacuum operated two speed. There are some dings and dents in the body. Cab is a 5-window. The side glass is cracked and the passenger side windshield has fogged. The 3 rear glasses look clear. This truck does not have vent windows. I believe the cab and fenders are the same size as a 1/2 and 3/4 ton truck. There are plenty of good parts to use for another project or build this into a rat rod or other awesome project. It could also be used as advertising in front of a garden or lawn store. Email any question and you can ask for a phone number to set up a time to see the truck. It is in Chesterfield. Virginia 23838. It has big 20-inch tires and wheels. Wooden bed has seen better days. It might not be a good idea to walk on it. It is a dually with dual rear wheels. Wheelbase is 161 inches and the entire vehicle is about 22 feet long. It will roll to load onto a trailer or flatbed. Tires are old 8. 25X20's It has a license plate bracket on the passenger side. Wood is rough Someone added an aftermarket turn signal - they were not required in VA until 1955 Bench seat Metal dashboard Chevrolet horn button Instrument glass is clear; looks like speedo lost its needle Floor shifter Chevrolet emblem on heater These pieces go with the truck Battery is under the passenger side floor Old 6-volt battery Truck has a headliner and sun visors It also has a cab dome light Passenger door panel - you can see glass is cracked on both doors Driver door panel - note no vent windows The engine is an I-6 that ran 10+ years ago - it was running when the owner/collector of many vehicles parked it Carburetor side of the engine Famous Stove Bolt 6 Passenger side of engine - we pulled the truck while it was in gear with a tractor and the engine will turn Voltage regulator on firewall Oil filter container and steering gear box Radiator. fan and generator Fuel pump looks like it was replaced when the truck was running Horns on firewall Underside of the hood Title is from 1963 - we can get a new title - FEA324196 is what Virginia used for the serial number - it is the number on the engine Door plate number is 14RWF3659. From StoveBolt Dot Com website VIN decoder: Serial # : 14RWF3659; Mfg Date : June. 1948; Model : 2 ton; Wheelbase : 161 inches; Plant : Baltimore.
