Description

You are bidding on an original 1928 Tudor Sedan. The date on the firewall is 8-27-28. The motor number is A418725, hich was built on 9-13-28. There is an ‘AS 1939’ (Seattle plant) on the body cross member. It may have been the 1939th tudor sedan built at the plant in 1928. The total 1928 production figure for the Seattle plant was 9348.

It still has the original upholstery, lthough the front seats have some seat covers over the original upholstery (I have not looked underneath). The door and side panels have the original 1928 patterns at the top. There is some wear spots in the upholstery (see pics). The headlining is in very nice condition.

There have been some changes to the car down through the years.

1). The body was repainted black, ut the original Gunmetal Blue or Niagara Blue color is still underneath. The black paint has some chips in it, evealing the original paint under it. Using a credit card I chipped off more of the black paint. My plan was to remove all of the black paint to get back to the original paint.

2). The radiator had been replaced, ut I have a nice original 28 radiator and shroud that I will replace the non-original one with.

3). I have an original powerhouse generator that I will install.

4). The steering column was updated with a 2 tooth assembly, ut I have the original 7 tooth, ith a pretty nice red steering wheel that I will be installing. The 1928 light rod might need some work.

5). The headlights were replaced with reproduction headlights. I have some original 1928 headlights that I will replace them with. The original 1928 headlights are not plated well.

6). The car has rear float-o-motor mounts, ut I have a pair of original rear motor mounts that will go with the car.

The car still has the solid front cross member, tear drop chock rod, working 1928 FM horn, pistol grip emergency brake handle at the front of the transmission. The 4 brake rods appear to be the original non-adjustable type. It has a working multiple disk clutch assembly. The motor runs well and does not appear to smoke and is not noisy. I have a rebuilt popout switch that I will install.

One of the rear bumper extensions is tweaked (see pic), ut I have a replacement one that will go with the car. I do not know if the original windshield wiper works.

The car has an old replacement set of Montgomery Ward Riverside tires, ut I might be able to replace them with some good used Goodyear tires.

There is a parking sticker on the windshield and some parking stickers on the front and rear bumpers that show that a previous owner went to Oregon State University in 1963 and 1964.The car seems to have west coast history. It was assembled in 1928 in Seattle, ashington, pent 1963 and 1964 in Oregon and I purchased it a year ago from a family in San Diego.

The car is currently registered in the state of California with original 1928 California plates, ut I will keep those plates, f the vehicle is sold to someone out of state. The Niagara Falls topper on the headlight bar will not go with the car.

I had hoped to replace all the updated parts with original 1928 parts and if the removal of the black paint was successful, onsidered entering the car in original class judging, owever I have just been given the opportunity to re-purchase a Model A that was in my family for a long time. I do not have room for both Model A’s.
