Description

BEAUTIFUL MERCEDES CL 500 WITH VERY LOW MILES AND EXCELLENT CONDITION

This is a 1998 Mercedes CL 500 Coupe in great condition and with very low miles. I bought this car few years back with about 30K miles on it and used very sparingly. I took care of the car very well and this car runs and drives like a dream. It has ton of power and room. This car will run for hundreds of miles and would be a great buy. The original sticker price was over $91,000 on this car. If you think you can find another one like this and with low miles, hink again, t would be next to impossible. These cars are now very collectible and desired.

Here is some information on these cars:

The Mercedes-Benz CL-Class was a line of full-size luxury grand tourers produced by the German automaker Mercedes-Benz, roduced from 1992 to 2013. The name CL stands for the German Coupé Leicht (Coupé-Light) or Coupé Luxusklasse (Coupé-Luxury)

The CL-Class is the coupé derivative of the S-Class full-size luxury saloon, pon which it shares the same platform. Formerly known as the SEC (Sonderklasse-Einspritzmotor-Coupé) and later S-Coupé, t was spun off into its own, eparate name in 1996 and in 1997 for North American markets. The CL continued to follow the same development cycle as the S, hough riding on a shorter wheelbase, nd sharing the same engines albeit with less choice as only the higher-output powertrains are offered. The last generation of the CL was actually heavier than the S (considering equivalent trims, ue to the roof engineering required to compensate for the lack of a central B-pillar).

The last generation of the CL-Class, 216, as available in four models: CL 500 (CL 550 in some markets, ith standard 4MATIC in Canada and the USA), L 600, L 63 AMG and CL 65 AMG. The CL 65 AMG was the most powerful model of the CL and the most expensive Mercedes-branded vehicle, lightly edging out its S-Class equivalent S65 AMG and the SLS. CL sales are the third-lowest of Mercedes-Benz in North America with under 1400 units sold in 2006, s only the G-Class four-wheel drive and two-seat SLS AMG sell smaller numbers; annual CL sales equalled Ford truck sales for one day. However, his degree of distinction was considered attractive to CL buyers.

Main competitors of the CL-Class in the luxury 2+2 coupé segment included the Aston Martin DBS, entley Continental GT, MW 6 Series (particularly the M6), nd the Ferrari 612. The CL-Class had more rear legroom than these aforementioned competitors.

In 2014 Mercedes officially ceased using the CL-Class designation, nstead moving the segments' vehicle naming back to the S-Class Coupe/Convertible label. Similar to how it did previously with the CLK-Class which was moved back to being called E-Class Coupe/Convertible, hus it was replaced by the C217 S-Class Coupé.

Mercedes-Benz W140

The next generation was the sleek but hard-lined and redesigned W140-chassis (internally known as C140) coupé of 1992–1999. Designed by Bruno Sacco, he C140's final design was approved between late 1987 and early 1988. Though the coupé’s physical appearance changed little over these years, he class underwent a name change several times. The V8 and V12 coupés were called the 500 SEC and 600 SEC, espectively, n 1992 and 1993. The 600 SEC was the first V12 coupé ever offered by Mercedes-Benz. For 1994, he model names were changed to the S500 Coupé and the S600 Coupé. The name CL-Class was adopted in June 1996(1997 for MY1998 North American models), nd the W140 coupés were called the CL500 and CL600. Production ended in August 1998. The CL500 was considered by most experts the best model in terms of power, eight distribution and equipment for the base price. The M119 5.0L V8 engine was regarded as one of the best engines ever produced by the German manufacturer (according to various journalists from automobile magazines such as Car and Auto Motor Und Sport). Being much lighter at the front, he CL500 tended to have better handling characteristics than the heavier V12 flagship. The CL600 powered by the M120 48-valve twelve cylinder engine, eveloped 394PS (290kW; 389hp) and 570N·m (420lb·ft) of torque, nd as is typical of Mercedes twelves, as quiet and smooth. Twelve cylinder variants are easily identified by the "V12" emblems at the base of each C pillar, laced immediately behind the passenger windows. An entry level model, he CL420, as available with a 4.2L V8 engine (with the same architecture as the M119 5.0L V8 engine) and since it was not available at all markets, t had very low sales compared to its larger-engined siblings. Production ended September 1998 with 26.022 Coupés produced.

The Mercedes-Benz CL 500 Coupé is a rear wheel drive motor car, ith its engine mounted in the front, nd a 2 door coupé body designed by Bruno Sacco.
It is part of Mercedes-Benz's C 140 family of cars.
The 5 litre engine is a naturally aspirated, ouble overhead camshaft, cylinder unit that has an output of 315.5 bhp (320 PS/235 kW) of power at 5600 rpm, nd maximum torque of 470 N·m (347 lb·ft/47.9 kgm) at 3900 rpm.
The engine delivers its power through to the wheels by means of a 5 speed automatic transmission.
Its stated kerb weight is 2080 kg.
