1) Description -History:

1940 Hupmobile / Cord car ;suicide doors ; believed to be one of 35 hand built Hupmobiles. This car is based off of 1936 CORD dies.
Norman DeVaux, UPMOBILE 's general manager, ad bought body dies for the Cord 810 / 812 from Auburn Motor Company.
This car is Cord from firewall back. I believe Hood is modified original Cord hood. In pictures is a story of this car from magazine article in May 1979 Consumer Guide, ars of the 40s.
In this magazine was a two page article on Hupmobile and the number of production. Article will have stats and details pertaining to this car ( very rare.)

2.) CONDITION OF VEHICLE
Parts Missing:

-water pump
-wiring
-tail light lenses
-two front grill halves

In one of the pictures are parts that came with the car that go in engine bay and interior. Car is 95% + complete.

Body has surface rust in certain areas because bodyshop many years ago tested chemical paint stripper on certain areas to remove paint.

Only rust-out is drivers side floorboard. Six or seven quarter sized holes are rusted through. All other metal around this area and rest of floor board is solid.

All doors, enders, runk lid, ave mostly original paint underneath no rust out at all.
Super solid body. No previous body work or bondo has been done to the car.
All four doors open and shut perfectly.
Have key for door lock.

Does have nice modern convenience of his and hers climate control cowl vents, djustable for each side, nd both cowl vents have original screen mesh under cowl vent lid.
Trunk lid hinges need to be reattached to body of Hupmobile.

Interior has all garnish mold trim, ll window handles and crank mechanism, s well as headliner bows, indshield squirt nozzle, nd cool original dash- mounted rear -view mirror. Dash has glove box doors at each end of dash.
Seats and springs are very solid, nd ready to be recovered.
