Description

So pretty much like I described earlier the vehicle is in excellent original condition with the only modification being an upgraded electronic ignition system from a Datsun 720. This is nice because it is easily serviceable and runs much better than with points. Everything else is original to the car. including the motor. with 83 thousand on it. Had it compression tested too. scored perfect on all four cylinders. Runs really great except for the tie rod issue which I described earlier. this needs to be addressed and then the truck will be basically ready to go anywhere. I'm not a mechanic. but I drive this guy around town and on county back roads all the time. and its fantastic. Oh the one other issue is with the carb. It is the original setup. it's been cleaned and re tuned. but something is wrong with the linkage that makes it a little jumpy when you engage the clutch. but only in first. This can even be avoided with proper technique. I couldn't find a replacement linkage so I left it along. I do have some nice weber carbs I could sell that I would have installed myself but you need some special piece. Personally I prefer the serviceability of the original stuff. It's this tiny little metal piece and it's just slightly bent but messing with it could break it so yea. have something fabbed. it a junk yard. I'm not sure. It doesn't really bother me much. but just to disclose. Ok so I'll move onto body condition and rust. Rust on her is really really minimal. Surface rust on floorboards but still plenty of original paint and all solid. no holes at all. One nickel sized hole in the truck bed. otherwise the bed is ridiculously clean. The body is immaculate too. original paint which I buffed out quite a bit so it shines really nice. looks super cool I really like it that way. And I mean. you just don't see old trucks that were used like these were so clean it's really nice. Best part is it's so clear that it has never even been touched by a body guy. any little rock nick or defect you can readily see but trust me there is not much. Interior is nice but original. To look restored. you would have to put new fabric just about everywhere. The dash is really nice though. typical cracking but not bad. easily fixable with some kind of sealer and a dash cap. All the gauges work too. and all lights. I've really enjoyed having this truck. but I'm trying to put solar on my house. I am the third owner technically I believe. but it's really only been driven by the original owner and myself. It has Davis Varsity Datsun licence plates which I kinda like being from Davis. Anyways valley car it's whole life. really really dry. Oh it also has lots of new rubber in it. new seals on the doors. windows. ect. I also have the OEM seals still for the front windshield and the rear window that I will throw in with the car. If you have any questions feel free to call me too. I don't mind. Thanks so much.
