Description

This very rare 1968 California Special Mustang was my first car in 1972 and I am the 2nd owner. Great on the finances as you get good mileage with that one tank of gas! This is a great car and in decent shape for being 47 years old!In the late 70's it was involved in a rear end collision but all damage was repaired as soon as possible. which included a new radiator. hood (that I was told) came off of a Shelby mustang and the bumper re-chromed. This is why there is a different grille on the front as the original one didn't have the space for a mustang emblem. In 1982 I had the white vinyl roof taken off & it repainted a Lipstick Red with Black stripes & a clear coat from the original color of Candy Apple Red with White stripes. The upholstery & carpet were replaced but was ruined from the CA sun so it needs to be replaced. Around 1990 I quit driving it daily and into the garage it went. Original engine was restored in 2009 with less than 550 miles put on it since then. When relocating from CA to MO it was transported by truck. Dashboard replaced 3 years ago. battery replaced recently while being serviced & for state inspection. Needs upholstery. carpet. plus a paint job then you'll have a car ready to show off. This car is a conversation piece and draws attention everywhere it goes! It might double in value! As I said this car is rare and unique as out of the 4118 California Specials made in 1968 (251 went to CO as High Country Specials) there were 148 of the 200-1V engines. of which 101 had 3-speed manual transmissions. Sale is for serious buyers who appreciate the value of this RARE car. It's described to the best of my ability and is being sold as is. It will be up to buyer to arrange transportation after full payment has cleared my credit union.
