Description

This is an awesome roadster with many hard to find period pieces. It has a fresh 8ba flathead V8 with aluminum heads/Thickstun tall intake/dual 97's/Bubba's distributor/dual exhaust/12 volt generator. '40 tranny via torque tube to a Halibrand Culver City quickchange. Stopping power is via '40 juice brakes all the way around. It has a dropped Henry Ford front axle. An original '40 dash holds the gauges and the steering column is topped with an original '39 banjo wheel. '40 emergency brake handle controls emergency brake system that works. It has a modern radio hidden in the glove box feeding to a speaker in the original '40 dash location. Glass body that is difficult to discern from steel. Runs/drives down the road nice. Carries excellent oil pressure and doesn't overheat. Overall a great example of a vintage hot rod. This car couldn't be built for the buy it now price! While local pickup would be preferred. the buyer is responsible if they choose to have the car shipped. I can assist with loading. While this car is in great condition. it is used and as such is being sold as is with no warranty. It is being advertised locally and subject to prior sale. I received some correspondence from the original builder of this car and thought it worth adding to the listing. Here's some of the information he passed on to me. I would recognize my 32 ford anywhere. I built it twenty three years ago it was in Rodder's Digest Magazine No. 55. page 106. the car still looks pretty much the same. I did not have emergency brake. no pin strip. no radio and no turn signals. I had a 4 inch merc crank. esky cam and it would fly down the road. best flathead I ever had. It is a gibbon body. and a 32 ford frame. 37 Hudson steering box. 50 ford f1 steering colume and pedel assembly 48 to 52 ford F 1 gas tank right behind seat. I trimmed the side and fit perfect. The generator is 49 to 53 6 volt I used a 56 ford back plate on gen cause it had a bearing rather than bushing and a 34 ford pulley and fan with a one inch spacer as to not hide radiator hoses. any way good luck. The car is still super tight and runs/drives great. As noted previously. feel free to contact me for more information or additional photos.
