Description

1958 Ford Fairlane 500 Sunliner Convertible - Restored This car is almost too nice to drive and should be in a museum or collection but does drive nicely.

Beautiful Turquoise & Black two-tone paint in 2 part Urethane paint

This has the 332 Interceptor 4V engine which is correct but not numbers matching to the car & Cruise-o-matic transmission.

This started out as an almost rust free car and it has all of the original sheet metal. One of the front fenders may have been replaced at one time but it had no rust.

I have pictures of the restoration process so the extent of the restoration can be seen. Contact me to request a link to those photos.

There have been several updates such as:

  • · Power disc brakes front
  • · Alternator
  • · Ford Thompson power steering pump (the original Eaton pumps usually leak)
  • · Pertronix electronic ignition
I have done a frame up restoration using thousands of dollars in NOS, ew reproduction and restored parts.

The stainless on the car was mostly NOS with some pieces being restored. All the chrome that was not NOS has been re-plated & is in show condition except for the convertible snap trim which was re-plated but not a very good job. The rear bumper was re-plated to show condition but a small chip happened near one of the bumper bolts.

Just look at all the pictures & if there is anything additional you need a picture of, will take it for you.

This was a frame up restoration but the frame itself has not been restored so it’s in the original condition with no rust but would need to be cleaned up if you want the underside to look as nice as the top side.

Here are some of the parts that have been replaced:

  • · All new interior, arpet, oor panels, ick panels seat covers etc.
  • · Power brake booster & master cylinder
  • · Brake rotors calipers, heel cylinders & shoes
  • · Electric windshield wiper motor
  • · Alternator
  • · New G78-14 Wide White Wall Coker Tires (5)
  • · New trunk mat
  • · Power steering pump
  • · Power Steering control valve & slave cylinder
  • · Gas tank & sending unit
  • · NOS clock (quit working)
  • · Ignition lock & door locks
  • · Sun visors
  • · Side & Quarter glass
  • · Convertible Top & Boot
  • · Front & rear shocks
  • · Exhaust system including mufflers
The AM radio may not work (never tried) but has 2 new speakers installed under the dash grill so an AM FM can be installed for Stereo sound. The wires that are shown hanging down from under the dash in the photos are the speaker wires.
