Description

1996 Ford E250 Cargo Van. 77,345 original miles. 4X4 Conversion. Strong running 351 Windsor motor. Does not smoke or use oil. Vehicle is dry underneath. Automatic transmission.2 speed transfer case. 3.73 gears front and rear. Brand new 33" BFG All-Terrain radial tires ( cost $1200 ) Front and rear AC. Powered roof vent. This van was formerly an Atlanta Ga area municipal vehicle. It has been professionally maintained by their ASE trained mechanics. I have their service records from 1997. This van runs and shifts fine. Drives well and stops straight. It handles more like a truck with the front leaf suspension. I drove it from Atlanta to Augusta on 1-20 at 65-70 mph. No problems.I intended to build an expedition vehicle / camper out of this van, but situations and plans have changed and I am not able to complete it. So I have decided to sell it.Overall this is a very solid van. Drive it anywhere. It needs cosmetic work ( mostly paint) and a few details.Build your own camper or resume as a dependable service vehicle. This would be an excellent beach van for the Outer Banks or camper van for remote areas. It is a real head turner as is.I have many extras included with this van intended for my buildout. Two swiveling seat pedestals, inverter, house battery, table top andpedestals. Replacement door gaskets. Rear view mirror. Additional folding third seat with integral lap belt. I have the original rectangular glass headlights and wire harness. "Vent shades" for the front side windows. There are boxes of parts and fasteners.
The AC compressor engages, but does not blow cold. I have not had it checked out yet. There are no check engine lights, but the airbag light recently statedflashing code "32" cwhich I am told is the " clockspring" . This is a $100 part +/- and an hour or so of labor. I have just not been able to get to it yet.
Please see photos for more detail.
The milage may change as I am still driving this van.

On Aug-11-16 at 10:02:44 PDT, seller added the following information:

The rear axle is a semi-floating Dana 60 with 3:73 gears. The front is a HD Dana High Pinion 44 from an F250. The transfer case is a Borg Warner 1356 with 2.69.1 low range. This allows good low end gearing and still good highway speed. The transmission is a 4 speed overdrive. This vehicle had Helwig overload springs on the back that were removed, but are included in the sale if wanted. I was going to convert to airbags.
The "auto check " / car fax records indicate it being a government vehicle for 19 years. There was one minor event with another vehicle that only involved the front bumper according to the service records. The rest of the reports are dealer services reported and the title transfer to me.
