Description

We bought this car in 2014 planning on restoring it for my son (now 14). His eyes have wondered and he's now into early 1970's Ford Muscle - specifically a 1970 Torino Wagon. I guess he lost the love for my heavily modified '84 SVO. Who knows ...
The car, when he found it, had been sitting for 12 years. It belonged to a paint and body shop owner who had passed away. His Mrs. finally decided to sell it. We brought it home and tried to start it but had no luck. It turned over fine and had good spark but no fuel pressure. We found the fuel tank was nasty and beyond repair. We yanked the stinky tank out and pitched it. The car has been sitting since.
The car seems to have 108,000 miles on it. It's got a VERY good body and all of the unique SVO parts are there - the rear wing is even in good shape ... better than mine on the '84. The paint sucks. It was originally black, he painted it Jalopeno Red and then back to black. His wife said he always loved the red but changed his mind after completing it. The paint is VERY thick - maybe three layers. There are two minor rust spots - one near the sunroof and one on the passenger rear fender.
The sunroof orwindshield (more likely)is apparently leaking a little somewhere - we've kept a tarp over it since we bought it an it's been dry inside since. The floor pans ARE NOT rusted out - looking from below - we never pulled the carpet up or out.
This car is good enough to save it just needs some TLC and a new home. No way am I going to part it out.
I would consider trading for a GOOD 1967 - 1970 or so short bed F-100 two wheel drive. I don't care about or want the drivetrain, that I have covered.
The reserve is $3200. I'mnot looking to make money just get out of it what I paid for it. Remember, the SVO is the rarest Mustang ever!! Less than 10,000 made between 1984 and 1986. How many survive today? Half of them?
