If you are watching this ebay item you are interested in Boss 429 Mustangs. In 1970 there were only 499 made. All 69-70 Boss 429 Mustangs started out as bodies assembled in Dearborn and finished at Kar Kraft in Brighton. Michigan. If your goal is to have a real Boss 429 Mustang. at the very least. you need a Dearborn body that went through the Kar Kraft plant. This car is the foundation for your $300+k Barrett-Jackson build. Keep in mind that the most important part of a Boss 429 Mustang that sets it apart from other Mustangs. is the factory sheet metal from the firewall forward. The rest is standard Mustang sheetmetal that you can source from a dry southwest donor car. or NPD. From the firewall forward is so important because the shock towers. the shock tower braces. and the VIN codes are all identifiers of a Kar Kraft Boss 429 Mustang. Every Boss 429 aficionado. knows where a Boss 429 engine is or knows someone who knows where an engine is that can be bought. Not many know where a Kar Kraft body is and if they do they aren't telling because they want it. With a little work you can put a Boss 429 engine in any 69-70 Mustang. but it will never be a real Boss 429. On the other hand you can take any Kar Kraft Boss 429 body and put any engine in it from a 6 cylinder to a blown Chrysler Hemi and it will always be a real Boss 429 Mustang. just with the wrong engine. The fact that KK2543 ran at the Bonneville Salt Flats. and various Drag Strips. only adds color and history to the car. How many Boss 429 Mustangs have run at Bonneville? Not many I suspect.
