Description

1939 Ford Pro Street Coupe. No frills. all business. old school hot rod. All steel body. Fenders are molded into the body. Entire floor has been replaced. Car is tubbed and has Mickey Thompson Sportsmans mounted on 12" wide American Racing rims in the back with 3-1/2" wide Centerlines in front. Body. overall. is pretty good and mostly straight and with nor rust showing or obvious signs of major rust repair in the past. Engine is a 355 SBC with 202 heads and heavy-hitting cam that gives it a strong lope. I was told that the engine had less than 75 hours running time since the last rebuild when I bought it in June of last year. I've put about 8. 00 miles on it since then. Car has full gauges but only the oil pressure. temperature and amp meter work presently. Car has had a new aluminum radiator installed and runs a consistent 180 degrees. New running board covers. new glove box. new 3rd brake light and I have new sun visor frames for it that are not yet upholstered or installed. Car has no interior aside from the seat. It has 4-wheel manual disc brakes and runs off of a Wilwood master cylinder. Was told the rear end is 9" Ford (ratio unknown) but that thing is big. may be out of a heavy truck. Rear end is on leaf springs. Front suspension is a narrowed '69 Nova IFS. New shocks front and back. All glass is new with new seals. Windshield is a V-groove unit. All other glass is dark tinted. Transmission is a rebuilt 350 with a shift kit. shifts smoothly and quickly. Floor shifter is a Mr. Gasket lock-out style. Car also has a new starter and battery and a new '69 Nova steering box. Car has a clear Illinois title. Car runs best on 97 octane pump fuel. All in all. this is pure hot-rod. Don't expect more than that. It's been very dependable once I debugged some things after I first got it. Its not particularly fast off the line. But. if you push it hard. you'd better hang on after about 40 MPH as it'll run as fast as you've got the guts to stay in it. It's not for the average driver. It's loud and it makes an entrance when you take it somewhere. But. its a heck of a lot of fun and not too difficult to drive and enjoy. as-is. The only reason I'm considering selling is that I've found something that's a little more family-friendly. Serious offers are welcome. Come look at it and then we'll talk if you're still interested. I don't need to sell this one to buy the other one. Email. call or text Neil: 903-874-7306. Full payment within 7 days of close. Shipping is by buyer. No warranties: as-is/where-is. Thanks for looking.
