Description

The short story: Nice little car that runs on gas only at this time, ybrid battery is shot but could be replaced and would work as normal.
The long story:
I'll be honest about everything regarding this car. No secrets.
Pros:
-It's a neat car and will function for years to come
-50-60mpg if driven right
-40-50mpg if driven poorly or without battery operating well
-Sweet stereo with new deck, ubwoofer, owerful amp, sony xplod speakers, luetooth
- Everything hidden discretely
-Aftermarket installed cruise control
-Never any internal combustion engine problems
-Newer tires with about 10k mi on them (60K low rolling resistant tires)
-New underbody panels/panel fasteners/right wheel well
-Manual Transmission fluid changed at 150k miles, hifts well, lutch is perfect.
-Oil changes always kept up with 0w-20 oil
-new glove compartment
-Computer chip which keeps car in lean burn mode to maximize efficiency
-Newer hybrid battery trickle charger
-Hybrid battery replaced at 130k miles, urrently not functioning
-Yakima Racks installed and are very hardy. Will carry surf boards or SUPs or whatever you want. You can pretty much lift up the car from these racks. (The picture of them is before the roof was polished.)
-A/C runs COLD AND HARD (crazy for such a little car)
-Left driver's side window motor replaced about 10mo ago (pro), uto window switch sticks (and burns out motor if left in auto down position - hence the new motor (con))
-I've had this car for 110k miles and I've loved it. Got me through a fun part of my life and now it's time to pass it on, et someone else rejuvenate the blueberry battery and enjoy it like I have. Or run it on gas only and still enjoy it.
-new idler pull the 5k mi ago.
-New 12v battery this week.
-I spent 2 weeks with a dual action polisher polishing the paint. There're some minor paint damage still, ut it looks pretty good. There is NO rust. The car is aluminum. So it'll never rust.
Despite the things wrong with it listed below, y parents just used the car for 3 months without any issue, unning on gas only. Before that, was using it as my daily driver.
Cons:
-First and foremost, he battery and the rebuilt title. The rest is wear and tear.
- I bought this car as a rebuild. It was originally in an accident which damaged the right quarter panel. The title was deemed clean again and the Florida Title doesn't mention the rebuild. I've had no mechanical problems with it, ut there has always been a slight dampness (not a puddle) to the passenger side floor. I hardly notice it and there isn't a bad mildew smell. I've tried to coat the wheel well with sealant and I've tried to replace the wheel well, ut someone smarter than me needs to have a go at it if they really care to. It really hasn't bothered me. I keep a moisture absorber under the front passenger seat for good measure.
- The battery: Mine first pack started to go at 120k miles, drove on them for 10k and eventually replaced them because they kept recharging, rying to balance the pack. They again started to cycle over and over, ndicating at least one cell is bad. People have replaced individual cells, ut this is quite labor intensive, o I got a trickle charger which slowly overcharges the cells in an attempt to balance them. It's simple, ust plugs into the wall and it actually seemed to worked pretty well for a while. Eventually, t stopped working so well. So I flipped the breaker on the hybrid pack and it runs on gas only now. Some may just prefer to replace them for 2k for an after market dealer, r just shut them off as I've chosen to do for now. Because of this issue, ou'll see the Check Engine and IMA light on on the dash. If you keep the revs below about 4500, he 12V will be charged. If you go over, he battery light will come on for about a minute, hen go back off.
- The Maintenance light on the dash won't reset. The dimming switches are sticky, hich is what you hold to reset it, t won't reset.
- Small crack in windshield near the rear view mirror has not moved in years.
-Interior is moderately dirty, ut nothing gross, ust beach sand a such. Cleaned as much as possible.
-Rear hatch must be opened with Key because the spindle toggle thing is broken. Never bothered me. Could be replaced for 250 or so if so desired.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking.
