BODYWORK/TRIM

Accenting a correct coat of GM code 974 Rally Red with a bright white Stinger Stripe, his handsome roadster is the kind of classic that you can comfortably cruise to the big shows. That said, he car was certainly built to be displayed. And one look at our high definition photos reveals top-notch aesthetics that are the product of a through and detailed restoration. We all know fiberglass can be a challenge to restore, nd this roadster has all the signs of an expert job including great panel alignment, ood gaps, nd no signs of cracks or stress marks in the usual places. That high quality work is sealed in glossy 2-stage, hich, s we all know, ill keep its integrity much longer than original single-stage. And overall, his drop-top is a fitting tribute to the most collectible era of Corvette motoring.

Thanks to a renewed dedication to motorsports and heavy influence from the original Mako Shark concept car, he second generation Corvette presents a sporty, ard-edged appearance. At the front of this classic, ullet-style marker lights, how worthy bumpers and a vivid cross-flag emblem cage a broad, tainless-trimmed grille. Behind that grille, n aggressive Stinger Hood flows to chip-free glass that's traced in straight stainless, leared by matte wipers and sealed in fresh vinyl. At the sides of that hood, mall door handles and a classy bowtie mirror float above simple heat extractors and traditional side pipes. And at the back of the car, onochromatic tail lamps split the difference between a chrome-trimmed fuel filler, correct "Corvette STING RAY" emblem, chrome-trimmed tag bracket and two more show worthy bumpers.

ENGINE

Tilt the car's hood and you'll find a 435 horsepower, 27 cubic inch big block that frames a correct "JE" suffix stamp and matching partial VIN in a '67-exclusive 3904351 casting number and January (A) 25th (25), 967 (7) casting date. At the top of the Chevy Orange mill, amiliar Holley carburetors ride between a chrome, orrectly decaled air cleaner and bright stainless fluid lines. Below those carbs, lightweight Winters intake funnels a perfect air/fuel mixture in to tough, ast iron heads, hich are capped by steel valve covers. When the juice hits the cylinders, eliable, hrome-capped ignition sparks fresh, tainless-sleeved wires while a stock cam and rotating assembly push spent gases through factory exhaust manifolds. Cooling for that fire is provided by a beefy radiator, hich hangs in front of pliable GM hoses and reproduction tower clamps. And, esthetically, his Chevy's tidy engine compartment is exceptionally well done, raming a correct alternator, ebuilt master cylinder and reproduction Delco battery in clean, atin Black surfacing.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Not surprisingly, omeone spent a lot of time carefully restoring the bottom of this exclusive Vette. And, iven the car has traveled less than 1K miles since it rolled out of the shop, verything is clean, resh and virtually weather-free. Behind the awesome big block, Muncie 4-speed sports a correct 3885010 casting number, Muncie (P) assembled on March © 8th (08), 967 (7) build stamp and a matching partial VIN. That tough transmission twists a factory-correct rear end that's fitted with highway-friendly gears. Turns come courtesy of factory power steering. Four disc brakes provide solid, onfident stops. And all that reliable hardware rolls on conservative Rally Wheels that spin 7.75-15 BF Goodrich Silvertown redlines around stainless trim rings and polished center caps.

INTERIOR

Crack this C2's cockpit and you'll find a correct Red interior that appears to have been completely replaced during the car's extensive rebirth. Seating comes courtesy of correct leather thrones, hich are anchored between correct headrests, resh lap belts and bright stainless trim. From the driver's perch, traditional clock and Delco AM/FM radio ride between rebuilt gauges and an aluminum-trimmed glove box. Below that dash, ike-new carpet balances a small console and fully functional shifter between fresh stainless sills. Above those sills, hrome-trimmed door panels hang monochromatic accents between small armrests and traditional handles. In front of the driver, wood-rimmed steering wheel spins thin satin spokes around a brilliant cross-flag emblem. And behind the passengers, fully carpeted storage compartment provides a reasonable amount of cargo space.
