Description

1999 Pontiac Firebird Formula with 29,970 original miles. This is one of only 1427 Formulas built by Pontiac in 1999. 5.7L LS1 V8 engine, 4l60e automatic transmission, and the optional GU5 3.23 rear end with G80 Torsen limited slip differential. Car is 100% original, no modifications. Options include traction control, power windows, power locks, power seat, power mirrors, Monsoon single CD sound system, and t-bar roof. This is a low mileage car for the year, but it is far from a perfect garage queen. I bought the car from the original owner who did not drive the car during the winter months (hence the low mileage), but the car was not stored in a garage and does have cosmetic issues. Mechanically the car is perfect and I have done a lot of work to get it into top mechanical condition. I have put 1500 miles on the car in the past month and have had zero issues, the car runs and drives perfectly.
Engine & Drivetrain - Engine runs fantastic and has zero issues. I have done the following within the last 1500 miles; oil change, coolant flush, brake fluid flush, radiator hoses, both drive belts (main accessory & AC), air filter, and fuel filter. Transmission shifts like brand new, I recently dropped the pan to replace the filter & fluid. Rear end has the desirable optional 3.23 ratio and the fluid was just changed.
Wheels/Tires - Wheels are the originals that have been freshly powder coated and had a set of NOS Pontiac center caps installed. Tires are BFG Comp A/S with like new tread. I also have a set of WS6 Speedline wheels with brand new BFG Comp 2 A/S tires. These can be included with the car if worked into the deal.
Body - This is where the car needs some work. I have spent hours polishing the paint and its turned into a nice 10-footer. There are still issues and it really depends on how picky you are, but assume the car needs a full repaint, I really don't want anyone to be disappointed. Here is a list of all defects; the front bumper has peeling clear in spots, the rear hatch has peeling clear in spots, the quarters both have multiple small dings in them, the top of the drivers door has some fading, the roof panel has the typical adhesive bubbling, the driver side quarter has a rust spot under the paint near the fuel door. That should be it, but I highly suggest a buyer inspect the car before purchase or go in assuming it needs a full repaint. Underside of body is very clean, the car was never used in the winter, snow, salt, etc.
Interior - The interior is in good shape with the exception of the dash and upper dash panel, there are cracks in both. The seats are in good shape as is the carpet and original floor mats. All power options work including the AC & heat. AC is ice cold. Gauges work with no issue. Car also has the original t-top shades which are currently installed.
This is a low mileage car that runs & drives like a low mileage car, it just needs some help looking like it. Engine & transmission are 100% and there are no squeaks or rattles in the interior, car is very tight. Considering the cosmetic issues I highly encourage buyers come inspect the car in person, I don't want anyone to be disappointed. The car is located in Bensalem, PA and I will make myself available for serious perspective buyers to view & test drive the car. I will ship the car if inspecting in person is not possible, but please contact me with any questions. I am happy to send more photos (I have plenty) to anyone interested and answer any questions you may have about the car.
