Description

1941 Chevrolet Super Deluxe Convertible
You are looking / bidding on a beautiful 1941 Chevrolet Super Deluxe Convertible. Great condition, runs great. Restored but left very original.
Car has some nice factory options
  • Vacuum assist top
  • Vacuum assist manual transmission
  • Under each door, chrome strips are for dirt removal from your shoes

Specifics of the car as follows:
BODY
  • Great body, very straight and paint is in good condition.
  • Body / panels gaps very nice
  • Chrome is in very good condition
  • 1 patch was welded in the floor pan (can be seen in picture).
  • There are some stone chips, one spot a few small cracks in the paint. Corner of door in the body some paint is missing. (I tried to capture all of this in the pictures, so please review)
  • Overall car presents very well and has won many awards

MECHANICAL

  • Not the original straight six, but have what I believe to be the original engine that goes with the car
  • Engine has modern day HEI distributor and 12 volt alternator
  • Engine runs fine. No smoking, knocking, ticking, etc. Lots of power for a straight six.
  • Manual three speed on column shift with vacuum assist. - Please see below for more details on the transmission
  • Brakes work great. Car stops fine with no pulling
  • Steering is tight, does not pull or wander.
  • Suspension is fine and the car rides as it should.
  • Exhaust is quiet with no leaks

INTERIOR / TOP

  • Interior is really nice, no rips or tears in the seats
  • Carpet is fine, could use a good cleaning and a little wear, but still very presentable.
  • Convertible top is vacuum operated (up and down). Works good.
  • Convertible top is in nice condition
  • Dash / Gauges in nice condition and work
  • Mileage is 25468. Not sure if that is actual mileage or not
  • Trunk is carpeted with a custom shelf to aid in storage

MISC

  • Tires in good shape

The car has been sitting for several years (owner has passed away and was asked to sell the car for the widow). So I did go through and check all fluids and started the vehicle. A few things I did notice

  • Fuel pump was a little damp with gas around the gasket
  • There is an aftermarket electric pump. Works as it should, but loud
  • A little oil was on the ground from sitting from the rear main seal
  • Transmission is a three speed on the column with vacuum assist. The vacuum assist is to aid in shifting in and out of gear, not to assist with the clutch pedal in and out. At first, was difficult to get the car in gear, but as I drove the car, seemed to get better and easier to get in and out of gear. Not sure if the vacuum assist needs to be adjusted, or just driven. I do not know much about these transmissions, but wanted to describe what I found. Clutch pedal seemed fine with normal travel and engagement.

Please ask questions and review all pictures. Vehicle can be seen for inspection by appointment only, but please do not wait until 1 day before the auction ends and my schedule does not allow for last minute appointments.

Thanks for looking.
