Description

Here is my 1999 Porsche 911. The car is decent cosmetically but is incredible mechanically. There has been a lot of money invested into the car to make it more reliable and performance focused.
I will start with the most important information on the car. The car was checked in to RS Motorwerks in Atlanta, GA for major service. It had a 2nd gear pop out issue and ran poorly. The service that was to be completed was a full transmission and engine rebuild. After being checked in the engine was inspected via compression test, leak down test, and borescope. The engine passed the tests with flying colors. No signs of bore scoring which is a more severe and more common than the IMS failure but lesser known. So it was decided to leave the engine as is since rebuilds tend to have high oil consumption, due to the stock cylinder sleeves ovaling preventing piston rings sealing, and a full service was performed. The transmission however was rebuilt with a modified 2nd gear to prevent the pop out common on higher mileage cars. A new clutch was installed at the same time.
On top of the in depth work done to the engine and transmission, the suspension has been mostly overhauled. The rear suspension has been fully overhauled with Bilstein struts, powerflex Poly bushings, and all ball joints replaced with Meyle parts. The front has had any poor functioning parts replaced with OEM parts and Bilstein struts as well. Pads and rotors have all been replaced with Meyle, and CV joints and axles have been replaced as well. The cam tensioners are known to fail on these cars and are very expensive to replace/rebuild. These have been rebuilt with new OEM guides and solenoids.
The IMS bearing has been replaced with the TuneRS oil fed bearing
The car has had modifications done to it as well. The bilstein struts put on the car where part of the Bilstein H&R performance struts and spring package, that go nicley with the rear Powerflex bushings, It lowers the car a little more than an inch and really makes the car feel more responsive and tight in the corners. The shifters cables were replaced with Numeric Racing solid shifter cables which help reliability, the stock cables tend to brake after awhile, but they make the shifter feel awesome, it clicks into each gear like a race car and has very little lost motion in the stick. The downside to this modification is you can here the transmission vibration through the shift knob but its not bad the radio or windows being down over power the sound. The exhaust on the car is custom from the cats back it doesnt have exhaust tips on it, I do have a set that comes with the car which really should be welded on. but new tail pipe clamps should get the job done as well. The steering wheel and shift knob are both MOMO as you can see in the pictures. The steering wheel with and airbag is not included with this car but a new one could be put on easily all the wiring is still in place for it with a resistor from a GT3 cup car put in place to keep the rest of the system functioning correctly. One of the coolest things on the car is the ipad that has been mounted into the dash. It is s 4g lte version and could be easily setup to run diagnostics on the car.
I have receipts for just about everything done to the car.
The only real downsides to the car are a couple cosmetic flaws. the front bumper has rock chips that youd expect from a higher mileage car, the driver seat has a tear in the upper upholstery, the headlights have some yellowing but are still restorable. The tires will probably needs replaced in the next couple thousand miles. There are a couple dings and scratches on the car as well but nothing drastic. All services and modifications have been done in the last 10k miles except for the Bilstein H&R springs and axles which have about 20k miles on them.
The car is definitely function over form, and the miles do not reflect the driving condition of it. I would drive it anywhere without caution. At this point the car has been made bulletproof. I have recently gotten married and we are trying to move so the car has to go, price is negotiable.
