1998 Land Rover Discovery - Serviced, Rust Free, Low Miles, NO RESERVE!!

Background:

Let me begin with a little background. This was ordered in a BEAUTIFUL color and option package - Oxford Blue Mica over Bahama Beige and optioned with the highly sought after LE model. The LE model and this specific truck were optioned and were graced with Land Rover "Deep Dish" (the factory name) wheels, ood accents, artial wood center console and few other wonderful trim pieces. The LE was one of the top of the line trim packages! This blue Discoy lives in sunny, ry, emperate California since brand new and is rust free!!!! It was serviced by Land Rover dealers as well as very respected independent Rover shops here in CA and even while being driven very little, tarted often and serviced with dedication and care. Let's continue to the service!

The Condition and Service:

This truck has been ENTHUSIASTICALLY and PROFESSIONALLY maintained and serviced and is a high standard for Rover service!

Let's start on the engine and drivetrain:

This engine has great miles for the year (a low average of about 6,500 a year), 09,000 miles appear on the odometer though the truck shows very well. It was driven and enjoyed as it should be, ut being owned by someone who wanted to enjoy it for decades, t was showed more than generous preemptive care. There has been A TON of scheduled and preventive maintenance performed to this truck to keep in near brand new condition. The engine is VERY healthy and has LOADS of smooth power! With even a crack of the throttle it, ore than many other Rovers, eels torquey and powerful, nd effortlessly pulls away! Don't feel you need to commit to buy an insanely low mile Rover in order to get a solid, orry-free truck. With proper care and a knowledgeable touch, well serviced truck with a normal average sampling of miles will be exponentially more reliable than "well it has low miles, o I haven't done much to it" truck. The key to a happy Rover is maintenance! And a happy Rover will go and go and go happily for hundreds of thousands of miles. And this happy Rover has received LOADS of preventative maintenance.

-HEAD GASKETS

As part of the preventive service schedule, his truck received BRAND NEW OEM head gaskets and OEM head bolts. This service was done within the past 500 miles as part of this truck's ongoing preventative care. THIS is the maintenance you want to see on a Rover! The truck runs COOL as can be and has never overheated.

-LOWER ENGINE and BLOCK

No knocks, o bangs, o burning oil, SOLID lower engine. New oil and filter!

-UPPER ENGINE

BRAND NEW valve cover gaskets, alley pan gaskets and upper intake gaskets, ll resealed among a few other minor seals. These were done in order to keep with the same high regard and care. The upper and lower intakes, alve covers and front cover were thoroughly cleaned.

-RADIATOR

Radiator flows well to keep this beauty nice and cool! The temp needle NEVER moves past 9 o'clock even with the AC on and in traffic. BRAND NEW coolant!

-WATER PUMP

As part of the overall service a brand new water pump was installed as well! Not once did this truck show a need for it, ut it was done as part of the dedicated service to keep it in tip top shape and ready for the owner to go LOADS of care free miles.

-IGNITION

BRAND NEW Champion coppers (the RIGHT plugs) and STI wires.

-BATTERY
BRAND NEW battery with a 3 year warranty!
-BELT

Newer serpentine belt!

-AIR FILTER

Newer air filter!

-EMERGENCY BRAKE

Recently adjusted and tight, nly a couple notches on the handle holds the truck tight

Lets move to the suspension and brakes:

-BRAKES

Newer OEM brake pads in the front and rear - loads of pad life! The truck brakes great. No ABS lights!

-SHOCKS

Great feeling OEM shocks. They are soft on bumps and tight in corners. The trucks handles wonderfully!

-STEERING

The steering is tight and has no excess play as you may find in MANY Discoveries.

Let's continue to the exterior:

-PAINT

The paint is nice! With only a few flaws making it a 6+/7- out of 10. Shiny, eautiful Oxford Mica paint was recently polished, inished and waxed by a highly acclaimed detailer here in LA. It looks very nice. CLEAN and CLEAR CarFax. NO ACCIDENTS. Most of the paint is VERY nice with a deep luster. There are few minor dings, hips and flaws. Most notably is there is clear coat chipping on the roof. We did not polish this out so it can be seen for what it is. No real paint damage, ust the typical Rover clear coat chipping. The hood also has some paint flaws, ark spots, olishing marks and wear. It appears that someone polished out the clear coat flaws it may have had and left some minor flaws in the process. Remember this is a near 17 year old truck with totally original paint, here may be some minor scratches, ear etc, ut she cleans up very well. This is a dry SoCal truck! That means no rust lurking under the surface ready to pop up! If there was a place to buy ANY Rover, t is dry, arm SoCal. No rain and no road salt!

-WHEELS

The wheels are in great shape with no major flaws or curbing. The Deep Dish look fantastic on the truck!

-TIRES

NEW tires with 85%+ tread left! Loads of care free miles! No leaks or flat spots!

-GLASS

Not to let a pebble defeat this truck, he windshield is great shape as well as the rest of the glass!

-TRAILER HITCH

The Disco has a factory trailer hitch!

Onto the cabin:

-SEATS

The Bahama Beige seats are fantastic!!! There is NO cracking, O tears, O seams coming apart. They are incredibly supportive with what feels like zero foam wear. The leather is SO soft. The rears I'm pretty sure have never been used. They are so soft and buttery!!

-DOOR PANELS

One of the big things with Discos is the top of the drivers side door panel gets cracked...not this one! All of the panels are free of dents or major defects.

-HEADLINER

BRAND NEW headliner looks fantastic! No sagging Rover headliners here!

-CARPET

Beautiful carpet in the truck! It has been shampooed and cleaned as part of the overall detail. VERY nice!

-POWER SEATS

All power seat functions work perfect! Hard to find in a Discovery!

-POWER LOCKS

All doors lock and unlock with central locking function.

-POWER WINDOWS

All windows work smooth and quickly!

-SUNROOF

-Front and rear sunroofs work! The rarest of the rare for a Disco! The sunshades have a few broken clips or flaws.

-RADIO/CD CHANGER

OEM radio sounds fantastic!

-WOOD

Very nice wood on the console, oors and dash! The finish is great and the stain is smooth

-STEERING WHEEL

The leather is very nice!

-CARGO AREA

Rear carpet is fantastic! Clean and no major flaws!

Driving this Rover is fantastic. It is Lexus quiet inside, ulls and handles like a sports car and is as comfortable as a Rolls Royce. It has all the power it had from the factory an then some, nd from even a little gas is torquey and responsive. She drives very well and has been reliable and comfortable. She isnt perfect though, ut would be a nice run-about, ase for an off road truck, irst safe car for a teen or even just a for someone who doesnt mind a few cosmetic flaws. She runs like a top though! Remember, overs take a little extra care and feeding, o a Rover with the cooling system serviced like this one is critical to make it a reliable, eautiful, olid truck again. Don't spend big money on a truck from a "turn-em-and-burn-em" style dealer when all they do to promote the truck is say a few things they think people like to hear. As you may tell from my ad, know the care that these trucks need and the details that make them tier 1, rom a tier 2 or worse and I hope to have addressed them to those of you that know as well. If an ad says "Low miles and well cared for" Ask questions! If you don't get thorough, ell addressed answers, tart planning more money and more aspirin. This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION! If you were to add up all of the recent items in this truck, ou would find well over $8k in recent retail scheduled and preventive service and restoration alone. Rovers require some extra care and feeding so go into this purchase knowing some of the largest preventative Rover issues are taken care of! This truck is ready to go live another 100k+++ miles of beautiful, eliable, njoyed life in your hands. Don't buy an unserviced truck for a little less than spend multiple times as much to get it to this level of service!
