SUPERB UN-RESTORED & VIRTUALLY 100% ORIGINAL CONDITION!!!

  • ORIGINAL MARK III-SPECIFIC "CAVALRY TWILL" VINYL ROOF
  • ORIGINAL DARK IVY GOLD LEATHER
  • ORIGINAL CARPETING...THE THICKEST IN THE INDUSTRY
  • ORIGINAL PAINT (Estimated 75% original...owners have been fussy about correcting most minor dings and scrapes over the past 47 years)
  • ONLY 32,715 ORIGINAL MILES!
  • CHERISHED FOR 47-YEARS...there are 5-year old cars that aren't this nice!

IMPORTANT INTRODUCTORY NOTES: This 1969 LINCOLN MARK III is an American Automotive Icon. In 1969, Lincoln and Cadillac were the epitome of luxury motoring...with very little foreign competition in the U.S. market. Motor Trend magazine developed the famed "King of the Hill" comparison report between the Mark III and Eldorado...and the Mark III repeatedly was declared the winner. The Mark II which preceded it is generally considered to be the finest postwar American car built...and the Mark III was the most carefully built American car since the Mark II.

ONE OF THE WORLD'S MOST ADVANCED MOTORCARS...

  • FIRST - domestic car with triple-coat protection for the front grille (copper/nickel/chrome)
  • FIRST - production engine with diamond burnishing of crankshaft thrust surfaces
  • FIRST - in its field with integral micro-electronic voltage regulator
  • ONLY car with crankshaft-driven power steering hydraulic pump
  • FIRST - in field with a central vacuum distributing system for vacuum-powered controls
  • FIRST passenger car in regular production with long-shear 100% nylon deep cut-pile carpeting (NOT the typical "loop" carpeting of this era)...this is sumptuous!
  • IN SUM...this car was engineered to be one of the finest cars in the world - regardless of cost

EXCELLENT INVESTMENT - the Mark III is a "sleeper" classic. Gradually, it is being realized and more fully appreciated that FoMoCo set world design and engineering standards for its Continental Mark series cars. Prices for the finest examples have been skyrocketing. For example...

  • 1940 Lincoln Continentals have now reached $209,000 for the best example
  • 1956/7 Continental Mark II has now reached $247,500 for the best example
  • 1969/71 Continental Mark IIIs now book at $32,560 as high retail for the best examples
  • Smart $$$ are going to the best Mark IIIs available because "these are next" for handsome appreciation and are a standout against ALL other luxury cars produced world-wide in their era (besting Cadillac's Eldorado repeatedly in Motor Trend's famed "King of the Hill" face-off...not just once, but TWICE!)

INCREASINGLY, FUSSY COLLECTORS ARE BUYING UP EXCEPTIONAL ORIGINAL CARS SUCH AS THIS...AND PASSING ON "RESTORED" EXAMPLES THAT LACK THE SPECIAL CHARACTER OF AN ORIGINAL CAR

THE FIRST PICTURES will give you a general overview of the MARK III, but if you are seriously interested...we suggest that you look at ALL 100+ images because we want you to see EVERYTHING. This is one of those rare vehicles that impresses you more, the CLOSER you LOOK!

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING...TO SEE ALL THE IMAGES: There are over 100 images that will show the car in great detail. BUT, to see ALL of the images, you MUST place your cursor DIRECTLY ON an image...and then scroll gently ALL the way to the bottom (be sure to allow time for all the images to load). CAUTION: If you use the scroll bar to the FAR right of your screen - OR, the "Click to View Image Album" feature - you will NOT be able to see all the images!
Over 2,600 TRANSACTIONS WITH HAPPY PEOPLE! As of the date of this listing, we've had over 2,600 transactions (both Buying AND Selling) on eBay without a single complaint. One of the keys to our success is to show LARGER and MORE images than almost any other eBay listing...so you can CLEARLY see what you are getting. We also give a very detailed description of the car...not just a couple sentences like many listings.
QUESTIONS?...after reviewing ALL the images and reading the entire description, please call Jim Murphy if you have any questions: 706-429-7924

THE LINCOLN MARK III STORY: Lincoln executives were a bit envious of the Ford Thunderbird...it was firmly positioned as a luxury car - with a luxury car price - yet it was marketed at Ford Dealerships. Lincoln wanted its own Personal Luxury coupe, as well as a worthy successor to the hallowed Mark II.

The pride that went into the Mark III shows everywhere...from the enormous triple-plated front grille to the advanced fiber optics that monitored the tail-lamps. More precision sewing appears on the door and side panels of this car than you would see in a Mercedes S-Class car these days! When introduced in April 1968, Lincoln even blue-printed EVERY 460 CID V8 that went into the Mark IIIs. A special option for factory wet-sanding and polishing was also available!

OPERATIONAL REPORT: The car drives beautifully...a testament to the excellent maintenance it has received for close to 50 years now! Never a "used car", this unusually fine example was always cherished as the classic it has now become.

Everything works, with the following minor exceptions...

  • Cruise-control module was bypassed due to a whirring noise
  • Clock was running...but currently does not
  • Power antenna delivers good signal...but does not extend or retract
  • Rear side windows do not operate...very common for the Mark III because they slide into the roof (rather than into the fender) and tolerances are very tight
  • Passenger's power window is sluggish

ABOUT ME: I am an avid Classic Car enthusiast. After retiring from 30 years of Sales & Marketing in a Global 100 company, I began buying and selling Classic Cars and Collectibles as a collector and for friends and clients. This 1969 Lincoln Continental Mark III is owned by a fellow Classic Car collector and Lincoln enthuisiast.
Please Note: as of this date, we have had over 2,600 eBay transactions with 100% Positive Feedback...this includes the sale of many Classic Cars to Buyers all over the world, including Great Britain, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Australia, Russia, Canada, Japan and throughout the United States.
IMPORTANT FINAL REMARKS: . A Notarized Bill of Sale and the Title certificate will be provided to the Buyer.

This Vehicle is sold strictly as-shown and on a final as-is basis without any warranties expressed or implied due to age. Even the very best maintained classics - such as this one - will require additional maintenance and service...often without warning. We have presented the car accurately to the best of our ability - but oversights are possible. Therefore - BEFORE the auction's end - bidders are welcome to examine the vehicle in person. All sales are final.

Please be sure to review ALL the images and ALL the captions because they relate important information too!
