What is presented before you is the grail of all Turbo-Diesels – a 100% all original, 8,000 mile, ne primary owner, oncourse level Mercedes-Benz 300CD !!! This is an unbelievable, nmolested, ristine, ike NEW in the wrapper and very rare W123 Coupe !!!

This will be the only Diesel or Turbo-Diesel that will be sold from its collection!

This car is essentially priceless. This is not to say that the car is worth millions of dollars (nor that it will never achieve such a figure in time). I say priceless because there is no way to put a dollar value on a vehicle as rare as this. There is no other comparison that I know of; it is undoubtedly a one-of-a-kind.

We're going to list a buy now option for those of you who are fortunate enough to have very deep pockets and would like to purchase the car and end the auction; those of you who don’t value money more than owning this Picasso. I encourage all of you to submit in your best offer; all offers will be considered and the car will be sold to the highest offer.

A little history of the car:

The following information was passed on from the daughter of the original owner to the current collector: For propensities sake, efore his passing in his 90s, he original owner had instructed his daughter to sell the car only to a collector. He said "the car is much too valuable to go to anyone else”. After her father’s passing, is daughter enlisted the help of a friend who is a licensed dealer in the state of North Carolina and deals only in high-end European cars. The car was sold to the current collector who has driven the automobile less than 80 miles while in his stewardship.

The original owner was a Mercedes-Benz enthusiast. In his middle-aged 50s he went to his local Mercedes-Benz dealership and placed an order to have this fine Mercedes-Benz built and shipped back to the states to his humble little town in Winston Salem, orth Carolina. He purchased the car not as a daily driver, ut as a pure pleasure vehicle. He was absolutely in love with the Turbo-Diesels and also had a Mercedes-Benz 300TD for his daily driver.

It was said that he would take this car for long drives in the foothills and through the mountains on the North Carolina Blue Ridge Parkway. These were some of his favorite weekend countryside drives. (Original period correct maps included.) While prepping this car for auction I found myself chuckling and picturing the old man with the windows down, ruising in the crisp cool air through the foothills of North Carolina; what a pleasure it must have been.

He, ike most Mercedes-Benz owners, as in love with his car. He took the upmost care and precautions to preserve the integrity and fine workmanship of the automobile. When not in use, he vehicle was stored in his garage with cover. His daughter conveyed that he was so meticulous about the vehicle that when he took it out he would put a red matching towel on the rear of the dash as to not risk any type of sun fading since it was a "hotspot". (Original red towel included). I always find that Mercedes-Benz owners are some of the fussiest owners of their automobiles any one person can come across.

I would like to give you some insight about the collector and current overseer of this extraordinarily rare automobile.

He is a very reserved individual with a museum quality Mercedes-Benz collection, hich is housed in one of the finest multi-million dollar climate-controlled private museums I have ever seen. Over the last 30 years, e has personally flown across the country, and picking and accumulating his one of a kind assortment, athering only the finest examples of collector grade Mercedes-Benz automobiles.

He has a discerning eye and extensive knowledge and background in automobile engineering. He is considered an expert in the field and has been consulted on many purchases of some of the greatest Mercedes-Benz ever sold. He absolutely demands perfection in any vehicle that he collects. This gentleman is what I would consider to be at the top 1% of collectors. As he has now chosen to live abroad, have been commissioned to sell from what undoubtedly has to be one of the nicest privately owned museum-quality Mercedes-Benz collections in the country.

Now on a personal note, would like to convey my thoughts of this fine outstanding example of an automobile! I will explain what type of automobile this is…

I have been to every major auction across the country at least five times or more, nd I can't count how many collector car shows I have attended in my life. Through all of this, ’ve learned one immutable, niversal truth: There is always one car that outshines and towers over all others; one car that gets the lion’s share of attention from the participants of these events.

THIS IS THAT CAR!!! The show stopper!!! The object of desire!!! The gorgeous woman in the room that you just can’t take your eyes off of! THIS IS THAT CAR!!! Why is that? Simply because it is so rare, o beautifully, nd so perfect, hat you are naturally drawn to it… like moths to a flickering flame!!!

If you have ever wanted instant notoriety, ame, r desired to be the belle of the ball, his is the car that would do it for you!!!

Have you ever been to a car show and noticed where one gentleman or lady was getting the lion’s share of attention and admiration due to the vehicle that they were showing? It almost seems like they are the king or queen of the entire event and the focus is centered on them.

People line up to have their pictures taken with the car and wait around to strike up a conversation. People eavesdrop in on an ongoing conversation as to know more about the origin of the vehicle, r chime in at the right moment to ask their own set of questions. This car will drive the Mercedes-Benz Diesel enthusiasts to your front door mat and put you at the pinnacle of the list of ownership. “King or Queen of the 300 Diesels!!!” You WILL BE at the top of the ownership class!!!

Now to describe the condition of the car:

The exterior finish is show quality and is beautifully complimented by bright and clear show quality chrome trim!!!

The anodized aluminum trims around the vehicles glass is in excellent condition!!!

All glass is crystal clear and free of nicks or chips, ith the exception of one teeny tiny minuscule chip under the passenger windshield wiper; other than that all of the glass on the car is flawless!!!

The interior is the nicest I have ever seen with zero sun fade!!! Seats, arpeting, he entire interior is impeccable and as close to flawless as you can get, iterally factory fresh and new!!!

Zebrano wood inlays have a mirror-like shine and a deep beautiful clear luster; excellent condition!!!

All power options functioning 100%, ecker Radio sounds beautiful and the A/C is ice cold!!!

Engine bay is factory fresh and THE nicest I have ever seen in its class!!!

The under carriage is in exceptionally preserved, ike new condition. The Cosmoline looks as if it were applied yesterday, nd the under carriage paint and factory coatings are the absolute best I have ever seen!!! This is without a doubt the best under carriage I have every laid eyes on in the vehicle’s class!!! It well represents fair weather usage and in my expert opinion, o rain weather operation!!!

The vehicle still wears (very rare) its original matching factory issued Continental tires including spare which has never been down!!! The tools are still sealed in the wrapper!!!

The vehicle has been completely serviced, ll fluids are fresh and a new battery has been installed…

This vehicle is at 100% optimum running order and needs nothing mechanically or cosmetically!!!
In short: ultimately the vehicle looks like it did back in 1982 the day it rolled off the factory line!!!!

This is one of the most well documented Turbo-Diesels on the planet. Everything is complete including hand written dealer service receipts (that’s the way they did it back then). If you demand PERFECTION, his car is as close to perfect as you will ever get!!!

I'm still reminded that no matter how many possessions or how much money we acquire in life, e are never going to be able to take it with us. A buddy of mine once told me while at a funeral… “You know, 've never seen a hearse with a luggage rack”. I had to laugh silently and thought, Yeah you're not going to take it with you”! So, ike the first owner of this exemplary Mercedes-Benz who lived to a ripe old age in his 90’s - enjoy life to the fullest. This is your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase a car like this… Own it, ove it, nd be the steward of this fine automobile until the time comes to pass it on to the next steward in line. Every so often in life you only get one chance at something and once it’s gone, t’s gone. There is no re-writing history! Did I say Picasso earlier…? This is a Rembrandt!!! This is truly a museum piece!!!
This is a worldwide auction, SA bidders please keep in mind a majority of our cars end up making their way back to Europe, ermany, oland etc.; many thanks to our Asian buyers as well! That being said please keep in mind the US dollar is competing against the Euro and the Yen.

All Books, anuals, ealer brochures, irst aid kit and service records are in order.
