Description

1969 Mercury Cougar Eliminator
This is a REAL Eliminator. This car came with Bright Blue Metallic Paint (6) and Blue interior (5B). This is a 351-4V "M code" car which came with a 3 speed manual transmission and 3.25 standard 9" rear. The car came with power steering, M Radio with rear speaker, ecor group, emote LH mirror and heavy duty suspension. Marti Report attached. The title shows 56,053 miles. The car was sold in Jacksonville Fl. I purchased the car from a friend in Florida 8 years ago and had it brought to PA.
I have taken a lot of pictures of this car and the parts I have for it because I want to be as honest with everything as I can. Here is a link where you can view the pics.
69 Eliminator Pictures
I have kept the car in a heated garage ever since I have owned it. The car needs a complete total restoration as you can see in the pictures. I do have all of the correct Eliminator parts that go with the car. The dash pad is very nice. It is not the “original” dash pad to this car as the original dash was shot. This is a very nice original dash though. The camera case filler panel for the RH side of the dash is there but has some very bad worn/peeling spots on it. The original door panels in the car are rough, here is a complete spare set that goes with it that are usable but need a little tlc and cleaning/painting.
I have all of the major parts for the car but again it needs restored so you will have to buy the normal things such as upholstery, eals, rakes, ushings, tc. The engine and transmission are out of the car as well as the interior. I do not have the original engine but I do have a correct 1969 351w out of another Cougar that is totally complete that goes with the car. I have a correct 3 speed for the car that goes with it also.
I have the Eliminator wheels, eats, nd a lot of other misc pieces with the car. The spoiler and hood scoop are original 1969 Eliminator pieces.
The car is very solid other than the RF apron and the front of the frame under where the battery sets and there is also some rust at the bottom of the RH quarter panel. I have "cut off" repair sections from solid doner cars to use to repair these areas. I have a complete cut off front clip section (see pics) to repair the RF battery apron/frame area from a very solid car along with a full quarter and another sectioned quarter along with some other section pieces. The drivers side floor pan was replaced at some point in the cars life already and whoever did this did a good job. It would not take much work to nicely finish the panel underneath so that you would not even be able to tell.
The Eliminator cluster and RH filler panel are not mounted in this dash because I had the car at Ford Carlisle last year and I did not want anyone stealing any of the parts over the 4 days I was there. I have the cluster and panel and will attach pictures of those as well. The rear spoiler, nd hood are from a different car as is the trunk lid that I have on it. These were switched with "better condition" parts for restoration purposes. The door tag itself is gone. It was not there when I bought the car. Kevin Marti reproduces those and the rivets for them.
I wish that there was a better way to show some of this stuff through pictures, ut doing this type of thing over the internet makes some of this hard. Again this is an original Eliminator and everything is there. It needs a complete restoration and would make a great car to do a full rotisserie restoration on.
Please ask any and all questions before you bid. My number is 814-285-0096 and my email is scott@townhillautosales.com I will try to be as helpful as I can in any way.
The reserve is set at $3,500. I am adding a buy it now to this auction and I am also willing to end the auction early if you are interested in getting in touch with me and working out some type of deal. I would be interested in possible trades but I do not want any completely torn a part projects like this. I would be mostly interested in drivable vehicles. I am big into Fox Body Mustangs (79-93) and any older cars really (85 and back).
You will have to pick the vehicle up at my home as I do not have anyway to deliver it. The tires hold air long enough to move it but do go flat over time. Again, t has been in a heated garage for the past 8 years along with all of the parts. Buyer will need to pay a $500 deposit via PayPal within 48 hours of the end of the auction and the balance within 14 days. Again, will help in any way that I am able to. Please email me with any questions. Thank you Scott
