Description

One Owner.
Manufactured at the Lorain, H factory, his car has its original Cleveland 351 2-valve engine (see photo, 116,210 miles). My great uncle, ick Macy, ought it from Kitchen Motors in Visalia, A for his wife, an. This has always been in my family. Nan drove it until she passed, n 1980, hen my uncle passed it to my folks, ho having moved to Logan, T, araged it in the winter, nd drove it only in the summer (1990-2011, hey lived in AZ in the winter). Even then, om only drove it to the pool and the grocery store.
In 2011, drove the car from Logan to Portland for them, nd replaced the radiator, ater pump, amp; belts. It has since been in a car port (with a good-quality cloth cover). I just had a trusted mechanic go through it, nd it runs great. It, f course, tops and shifts properly as well. Apparently, he ‘hidden headlight’ feature can be restored by replacing the vacuum canister.
The only modifications dad made were to put on glass packs (so that it sounds like an inboard boat) and to replace the stock wheels (after he lost a hub cap) with custom wheels and 70’s-appropriate ‘meat’ tires.
The headliner is flawless. The carpet is flawless other than being 46 years old. I don’t know if the floor mats are factory, ut they have been there as long as I recall. The upholstery is flawless except for two seam-splits in the driver’s seat (see photo).
Dad must have had the car repainted (notice over-spray on rubber under the hood), ut it impeccably matches the original color and I detect no orange-peel or other flaws.
If you want a 1970 Cougar that has not been driven, ove on. This has rust in the trunk and under the hood. It has dings and fairly minor paint scrapes & scratches (see photos). Mechanically, t has been well cared for, nd it has not been in significant accidents (other than whatever put the ding in the rear bumper… see photo).
