Description

Very low reserve for a car this cool. The muscle BEFORE muscle cars. 1961 Oldsmobile 98 Holiday Hardtop with New Mexico history. 394 cubic inch four barrel Sky Rocket V-8. One of the smoothest and quietest running older engines I have ever heard. Starts instantly. Idles perfectly. No issues. Looks to be a completely original. numbers matching. blast from the past. Also. the transmission operates and shifts amazingly well. With the power steering and power brakes. its a real pleasure to drive. Lots of power. Another nice option is the AC blows cold! 55 years old and still blows cold?!? I. l bet it would be icy with a can of R12 put in. Its ready for your paint and interior. I believe it was metallic turquoise originally. Very straight with no evidence of any accidents or major damage. This car runs and drives. but we recommend a complete service. and inspection before taking any long trips. Odometer says 45. 00 miles and could be actual. but we dont have any documentation. There is almost no wear on the pedals and original factory floor mats. The tires all hold air. but are very old and not trustworthy. The glass is all good. and appears to be the originals. All the windows move up and down quickly. And its the Holiday hardtop sport with 4 doors and NO post. Great for cruising with the family. The body is amazingly straight and rust free. The original AM radio still works. and even has the tag for the power antennae option which also works. We found some paperwork along with some of the original manuals that indicate it was a New Mexico car earlier in its life. which would explain the rust free body. Dont miss out on this rare piece of American luxury and performance. Please call John or Connie at 435 884 1040 with any ?? or email of course. The car is being sold AS-IS. WHERE-IS. with Utah rules and regulations being followed. We are a licensed and bonded dealer. about 40 miles west of Salt Lake City. We will assist your shipper. or perhaps bring it to you for an agreed on fee. We have sold and shipped cars to England. Germany. Sweden. Austrailia. New zealand. Nova Scotia. and Canada. Bid with confidence. and bid to win!! We welcome in person inspection and test drives. We try to describe these classics accurately and honestly and remember. its NOT a $30K show car. (But it could be)Please dont get scammed. We can supply pictures of any part you want a closer look at. and copies of any documents you may want. Thanks again. On Mar-03-15 at 08:20:33 PST. seller added the following information:The paint code on the data plate is upper-C. lower-J C. This decoded as a two tone paint scheme-white. with a metallic bluish green middle. then white on the bottom. I'll bet it was spectacular! It was my plan to paint it that way again. but health issues are forcing me to let some of my project go. thanks
