Description

This Cutlass is back on ebay after a failed sale. The out-of-state buyer was unexpectedly tested for advanced Leukemia after coming to the arid zone to drive the car. He had liked it; he bought it. It wasn't a scam either, since he left a sizable deposit on the table.
This car has had over $10K in parts installed in the last 2-3 years, actually in the last 1500-1800 miles, to make it look better, ride better and run better. The car has PS, PB and AT, a TH400. The engine is a strong 455 cid. It has positraction.
Under the hood is a recently installed aluminum radiator. Also recent were hoses and belts, under hood insulation, an Edelbrock Performer carb, alternator, Optima battery, brake booster and master cylinder. The fuel tank sending unit and related hoses and fittings were replaced.
The steering was completely rebuilt including a new steering gearbox. Also, the car was lowered with two inch dropped spindles and two inch shorter rear springs. Front power disc brakes were added, also shocks on all four corners and a rear sway bar. Five new 15 inch wheels were installed that give a modern appearance to an older style, along with all new tires.
The paint is good driver quality. The car has correct 442 badging throughout; all that's missing is the 44 in the VIN. It has a recent windshield and new front and rear bumpers. It has H4 Halogen headlights. The exhaust flows correctly through the trumpet tips in the bumper. A cloth top with new wires, pads, and weatherstripping was installed. The rear window is plastic. All of the window glass is good and the side windows roll up and down as they should.
The seats and door panels were redone. It has a later year 442 steering wheel. The carpet was replaced, as were the scuff plates, seat belts, window crank handles, and door handle trim. Under-dash digital gauges were added. Vintage Air AC was installed, a $2000 expense.
On the down side (maybe), the radio doesn't work and the horn recently quit blowing. The temperature gauge sometimes gets excited when the AC is on, but it's just the gauge, not the temp. Actual mileage is unknown.
Someone is going to get a great cruiser. The "coke bottle" body design, the stance, the more than adequate power and that big car ride with the top down make it hard to part with, but, it's a case of so many cars and so little time....
A $500 deposit is required from winning bidder within 24 hours. Deposit is to be made by PayPal and the final payment by cash or cashier's check. Neither the car nor the title will be released until cash money is in hand. Sale is as is, where is, and the car is for sale in other venues. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.
