Description

Selling my McBurnie Daytona 365 GTB Spyder. I am the original owner of the Daytonaand have had the car since it was completed In October 1991. This was the last Daytona Spyder completed by Tom McBurnie. The McBurnie ID tag has my last name in it.The donor car is a 1978 Corvette which I purchased in 1986.

The chassis project was started in 1986 and included the following. I have the original receipts for all the parts. The chassis has Energy Suspension components. The upper and lower control arms and bushings, all joints, ie rods, nd idler armwere replaced. Gas shocks were also installed. The half shaft U-joints are new. The brake calipers were replaced.Therunning gear was upgraded as part of a ground up restoration. The chassis project started in 1986. In 1990 the chassis and running gear were delivered to Tom for assembly. His build time took nearly two years.

The engine was completely stock which allowed it to pass CA emissions. I then replaced the cylinder heads with a high performance setthat wereported and polished. I changed the cam to a high performance cam with hydraulic lifters. I also added an aluminum high rise intake and a 4 barrel carb. I have all of the original engine parts including everything needed to pass smog. I have a new set of Doug Thorley headers that were never installed.

My wife and I keep the car in an insidestorage facility several miles from our home. I think the long build time had us loose interest in the car and we just never drove it. The mileage is correct at 764 miles. This car is a barn find. It has sat untouched for over 20 years. The color is a 1987 Honda color called Hampshire Blue. I am not aware of any scratches or scrapes on the car. There is no rodent damage. The registration has been CA Non Operational since 1994. All annual fees have been paid to the DMV. It will need the brake calipers resealed, he tires aired up,and the fuel system cleaned. Other than that it is ready to go.

If someone is local and wants to see it, lease contact me. I would be pleased to show the car. The car will need to be put on a flat bed to be taken to its new home. Local pick up is preferred but if the car needs to be shipped, will help with whatever I can do.

You may see a few other McBurnie Daytona Spyder'sfor sale. He sold kits that you assembled yourself. You need to question the build quality. There are very few that were actually built by McBurniebut this is one of the rare ones actuallybuilt by Tom McBurnie. I have letters from Tom that he sent me during the build that will go with the car for documentation.
