Description

My family acquired this truck in the late 80's in Parsons, S. My uncle and his brother-in-law cleaned it up and put it in red primer. My brother drove it to high school briefly in 1991, ut they called him the "milk man" and he didn't like the attention so he bought a Ford Probe and drove it instead. The Panel was parked and covered with a tarp behind my parents house. My dad had dreams of restoring it, ut never materialized. My folks brought it to me in Minnesota in 2008, e threw a battery in it and got it started, ut that was the last time it was run. I've stored it inside my shop ever since.
It's a very cool vehicle and with the family history I'd like to keep it, ut I already have a 65 Sting Ray project that I'm keeping and need to let the Panel go. I spoke with my family about it and have their blessing to pass it on to the next caretaker.
There are a few areas I've noted in the photos. The windshield has a crack and will need to be replaced, he other glass is good. The right front fender corner has a bit of rust showing through the 26 year old primer, ut the underside shows no holes. Same with the RR and LR. There is diamond tread plate covering holes in the running boards. Otherwise this truck is at a great starting point to restore and care for as you wish...
There are a couple extras that go with - I have a chrome grille and a V8 radiator that will fit this truck. There may be some other items my uncle gave me that will go...
It ran good when it was parked some 25 years ago, nd it still ran in 2008. It's been parked indoors so it should be easy for someone to get going again, just have too many other projects...

Received a question regarding whether this was a numbers matching vehicle. The numeric serial number on the title (Kansas) matches the VIN plate which matches the frame, ut it seems Ford was not too particular about the engine type on the frame stamp. The title, IN, nd original engine all indicate F10D6Uxxxxx, ut the frame stamp indicates F10V6Uxxxxx (should be D instead of V). The title is clear, o it would appear the State of Kansas agrees this is a numbers matching vehicle.
Photo 10 shows some evidence Bondo was used, ut photo 11 shows on the inside that it is minimal. I think my uncle applied a skim coat to smooth out some pitted areas at the rear wheels some 26 years ago. It's held up well over the years, ut looks like it is finally giving out.
Also to be noted in photo 14, floor patch has been installed. I pulled up the carpeting so you could all get a better look at the floor pan / sills. Photo 18 shows the right side floor pan / sill. There is a rust hole about 1"x0.25" in the battery lid lip. These could probably be repaired by welding / filling. There is also about a quarter sized hole on the inside door pillar below the bottom hinge and some pitting. No holes in the sills, ut some pitting. The door hinges themselves are good - no sagging and the doors operate smoothly.
Photo 15 is the rear sill. There are 3 pinholes and some pitting. The bottom insides of the doors are also pitted, ut still seem solid. There is a repair on the right rear door hinge in photo 13. Nothing else notable in the cargo area, xcept maybe for photo 24... :) Sorry bro, ust had to set that up! :)
At any rate, es there is some rust in the typical areas so the Panel isn't in mint condition, ut it is definitely very good for an original truck of its age.
The brow in photo 19 only shows a little surface rust where the primer is thin both over and under. No pitting. No pinholes.
The license plate is the same one that was on there when it was parked 25 years ago. The body is definitely in great shape, ith only a little surface rust in a few spots that should clean up nicely.
Thanks for looking, nd if you have any questions - please, lease, lease feel free to ask!
