Description

You don't have to be Danny Zuko, ohn Travolta's name in Grease to drive and appreciate this gem. Much less, cannotguarantee you'll "getthe girl", livia Newton John, owever driving it willcertainly garner a tremendous amount of attention when "Cruising" around in it. Quite simply.... there's not much like it on the roads today.
Offered for your consideration is a fabulous, icely recommissioned (restored) example of Plymouth's Special Deluxe Business Coupe. (Built without a back seat). Gorgeous in Battalion Beige two stage finish, beautiful cloth sienna and tan interior and graced with sixteen inch red steel wheels with wide whitewalls.
The most interesting facet of this Business Coupe is its "Sleeper" appearance. Situatedunder the longgraceful hood resides a bored 0.30 overrebuilt "inline" six cylinder L-Head engine, robably now displacing approximately 230+ cubic inches. Complementing it are twin Carter carburators, ounted to an Offenhauser finned aluminum manifold, ffenhauser finned aluminum valve covers, hillips Performance cast iron Headers, very mild performance camshaft, nd followed downstream with Dual Exhaust and high flow mufflers. When running it truly evokes the sounds and memories of the "hopped up" coupes of this era.
The transmission is a three speed manual, ollowed by a 3.90 ratio differential. The Special Deluxe Business Coupe runs and shiftsnicely, nd its actually quite quick for its vintage. The tires are older bias ply, nd should you wish not to have to endure the typical flat spotting after setting and wandering when driving, switch to a set of radials would vastly enhance the coupes handling. Forthose wishing originality, tay with the bias ply configuration.
All glass andchrome are very nice. Some pitting does exist onthe right and left door handles, nd rear tail light chrome surrounds. The rear tail lights feature vintage "Blue Dot" lenses. Very retro.
Recently "tuned", ully chassis lubrication, nd oil and filter replacement (Pennzoil 10/40 with ZDDP additive), ew 6 volt battery, /C spark plugs, ignition points, nd coolant flush and replacement all have been performedwithin the last month.
In conclusion, his is a delightful, ust free Special Deluxe Coupe which can be driven with confidence. It will be sold as is where is, ith no warranty expressed or implied. Ihighlyrecommend personal inspection or by a "qualified" representative prior to purchase. Inspection as condition of sale after auction end will not be permitted. Please and respectfully keep in mind this is an auction, huskindly do not request my reserve, r Buy it Now price. I will consider "reasonable" offers. Hint: this is NOT a $6K car, hich bidders feel they can acquire without having to spend thousands of dollars to make it viable. Moreover, idders with a feedback score* of ten (10) or less, lease contact me prior to bidding, hus avoiding having your bid cancelled.
I reserve theright to end the auction early, iventhe Special Deluxe Business Coupe is for sale locally and on other International venues.
