This Viper has only been driven slightly over 1000 miles a year. It has never seen a race track, as a spotless CARFAX and has always beengarage kept and never abused.
No sign of any prior paint or bodywork.
This car was owned and driven only by non-smokers.
In driving thiscar with a "light" foot on the gas pedal...it is very docile. The AC blows Ice Cold, he stereo sounds greatand it runs nice & cool...even when in heavy traffic.
However, et this "beast" out on the open road and "stick your foot hard in the throttle" and you better have this baby pointed ina straight line and a firm grip on the steering wheel.....the V-10 EXPLODES with raw Horsepower and BRUTE torque...it's easy to look at thespeedometer andthinkyourlooking at the tachometer...that's how quickly this car can accelerate!
This is NOT a car for an inexperienced teenage driver or for that matter for anyone who has not driven a car with this much Horsepower and brute force torque. If your not careful, ou can lose control of this monster.
0-60mph in 4.0 seconds
0-100mph in 8.6 seconds
1/4 mile in 12.2 seconds (119mph)
Top Speed: 185-190 mph

The 2000 Dodge Viper continued the tradition of the near identical dual-styles, he RT/10 Roadster and the GTS Coupe, oth with 8.0-liter V10 engines that pump out a staggering 450 hp.But if that's not enough power, odge also continued producing a limited number of ACR (American Club Racer) Vipers,a stripped down and modified GTS that has 460 hp.Basically, he 2000 Dodge Viper ACRs are street legal racecars, ven more-so than the other Vipers have been for years.
The comfort levels of the 2000 Roadster and the 2000 GTS Coupe are more than adequate for the appropriate use of the Dodge Viper: going fast. With air conditioning, ower windows and locks, nd a AM/FM Stereo CD player/sound system, he 2000 Dodge Viper will keep you happy as you go barreling down the road at whatever ticket-inducing speed you feel comfortable driving. With a 0-60 mph of about 4 seconds, he 2000 Dodge Viper is one of the fastest stock cars available. The gas mileage for this beast of the road is about what you’d expect: 12 mpg city and 21 mpg highway.
Time and time again, wners of the 2000 Dodge Viper (and all Dodge Vipers) talk about the skill required to drive this car.It is fast.It is powerful. It can make all of your driving fantasies come true. But the 2000 Dodge Viper is not a car for beginners. That having been said, ew cars out there can give you as much power at your fingertips

The Dodge Viper is a two-seat sports car, he most powerful production car made by Dodge. Viper production began at New Mack Assembly in 1992 and moved to its current home at Connor Avenue Assembly in October 1995.
DevelopmentThe Viper was conceived as a modern take on the classic American muscle car. While there are some who insist that the iconic AC Cobra was a source of inspiration, he final version of the Viper was far too large and heavy to seriously claim any direct lineage with the compact and lightweight vehicle. Most saw claims to kinship with the Cobra as a marketing exercise, lthough Carroll Shelby was involved in the initial design of the Viper. The Viper was initially conceived in late 1987 at Chrysler’s Advanced Design Studios. The following February, hrysler president Bob Lutz suggested to Tom Gale at Chrysler Design that the company should consider producing a modern Cobra, nd a clay model was presented to Lutz a few months later. The car appeared as a concept at the North American International Auto Show in 1989, nd public reaction was so enthusiastic, hat chief engineer Roy Sjeoberg was directed to develop it as a production car.Sjoberg selected 85 engineers to be "Team Viper", ith development beginning in March 1989. The team asked then-Chrysler subsidiary Lamborghini to cast some prototype aluminum blocks based on their V10 truckenginefor sports car use in May. The production body was completed in the fall, ith a chassis prototype running in December. Though a V8 was first used in the test mule, he V10 which the production car was meant to use was ready in February 1990.Official approval from Chrysler chairman, ee Iacocca, ame in May 1990.One year later, arroll Shelby piloted a preproduction car as the Indianapolis 500 pace car. In November 1991, he car was released to reviewers with first shipments beginning in January 1992.
Production of the Dodge Viper ended earlier this year

The Original Dodge Viper: 1992-2002 includingRT/10and GTS
Gustavo Gutierrez-Vargas provided the basis for this page:The first Viper concept debuted at the 1989 Detroit Auto Show, ollowed by prototypes; the late-1989 VM01 was powered by the 360 V8, ut an 8-liter V10, lready planned, howed up in the 1990 VM02. The original V10 was reportedly built with the involvement of Lambourghini, hich was partly owned by Chrysler at the time; it was based on Chrysler’s venerable 360, ut Lambourghini worked on the cooling system, crankshaftbalance, eight reduction, nd fine tuning. The Italian automaker’s expertise in aluminum was also tapped, ince the Viper had an aluminum block to save roughly 150 pounds of weight.Legendary Chrysler engine designer Willem Weertman, ho had designed the LA V8 the Viper was based on, as called in to help out. In the end, he Viper pushed out 400 horsepower and 450 lb-ft on mid-grade (89 octane) fuel, ith massive low-end torque for instant thrust.Unique features of the Viper version of the V-10, ersus theV-10Truck engine, ncluded a low-profile cross-ram intake with dualthrottlebodies, he manifolds, il pan, eads, nd accessory drive; the compression ratio was raised, he pistons lightened, he maximum engine speed increased, he valves enlarged, he rods and crank strengthened. In the end, ew components were shared with the truck engine. The car weighed a mere 3,399 pounds, espite the massive engine and sturdy transmission.Styling was reportedly guided directly by Tom Gale, ho was also in charge of the first Dodge Intrepid. With hindsight, n 2003, im Julow, ice President - Dodge Motorsports and SRT Marketing said, Back in 1992, he purpose was to re-orient what theDodgebrandwas all about ... We wanted to come up with something that was so outrageous, o cutting edge, o purpose built that it said we still had a lot of car nuts around here; people with the know-how to put the most outrageous street car ever on the road."The Viper used a one-piece sheet-molded composite (SMC) clamshell hood.In its first calendar year, 55 Vipers were made (both 1992 and early 1993s), ith the $50,000 sales price often exceeded by buyers. For 1993, he price rose somewhat, o $50,700, nd the weight rose by 77 pounds, ithout explanation, nd black paint was added. 895 Vipers were made. For 1994, ew colors were added (Emerald Green and Dandelian Yellow), ith a black and tan interior available for green buyers; the snake was tamed somewhat with optional factory air conditioning ($1,200), reverse lockout on the transmission, nd an amplified radio antenna. The 1994s had a somewhat higher price boost to $54,500, ith weight remaining the same and 2,890 made; Viper also gained a little brother, he Venom concept, hich was highly acclaimed (based on the Neon floor pan, ith a 245 horse 3.5 V6 and rearwheeldrive). There were no major changes for 1995 other than a passenger asisst handle, eat-cushion storage pockets, nd a new price of $56,000. Production fell to 1,418. (A power boost to 465 lb-ft occured at some point after 1992.)Refreshed: 1996 Dodge Vipers including the new Viper GTS coupeA major refresh in 1996 boosted horsepower to 415 and torque to 488 pound-feet, hanks to a new Jeep-Truck powertrain controller (with OBD II), revised cam, nd higher compression. New features included a relocation of the exhaust to the rear, beefed up driveline, orgedaluminumwheels, better-sealing convertible top, ll aluminum suspension components, nd a lighter yet stiffer frame. The Viper was also the first domestic car to useMichelinPilot MXX3tires. To make room for the rear exhaust, he gas tank was cut from 22 to 19 gallons.Colors changed for 1996 as well, oving to red with yellowwheels, lack with silver stripe and silverwheels, hite with blue stripe and whitewheels, r, fter the Indy 500, lue with white stripes. A removable hardtop with sliding side glass was available for $2,500 (dealer-installed).Over 1,200 Viper roadsters were made in 1996; coupes were also made, ut production figures were not released. In Spring 1996, odge launched the Dodge Viper GTS Coupe, sing it to pace the Indianapolis 500. The more slippery coupe shape boosted the top speed (the roadster’s top-down coefficient of drag, r cD, as a hefty 0.55), ut also allowed weight reduction and increased body stiffness. A single color, lue with red stripe, as sold (in 1997, ed was added). It had driver and passenger airbags, hich would soon be mandated regardless.Despite shared looks, ore than 90 percent of the Coupe was new; every majorpartwas subjected to scrutiny. Thus, he GTS with air conditioning weighed nearly 100 pounds less than the 1994RT/10without air. Weight reduction changes on both platforms reduced weight by 200 pounds. For GTS, eight reduction was focused in the engine and cooling system, here over 80 pounds were removed. For 1997, heRT/10gained blue-with-white-stripes paint and a Viper Red color scheme, n optional goldwheelpackage, nd newly mandated driver and passenger airbags, long with power windows. GTS gained a yellowwheelpackage and red paint.By 1998, 500 Vipers cruised the world's boulevards and racetracks, uilding a strong and extremely enthusiastic owner core. Dodge added second-generation airbags, passenger airbag switch, ed with silver stripes (GTS only), nd silver with optional blue stripes on either car. The V-10 engine was given new, ighterexhaustmanifoldsthat heated up faster, llowing the catalyst to reach operating temperature more quickly; and tubular stainless steelexhaust manifoldsreplaced cast iron components, aving 24 pounds. A new reduced overlapcamshaftsmoothed the idle and allows an increased spark advance at idle without compromising emissions. Safety was enhanced somewhat with revised locks, eyless entry, nd a leak-resistantbatterycase. Fewer than a thousand 1998s were made; all but 74 of them were coupes. Pricing now stood at $64,000 for the roadster and $66,500 for the coupe, hich weighed around 64 lb more than the 3,319-pound roadster. For 1999, iper gained 18-inchaluminumwheels(up from 17) with Viper caps andMichelinPilot Sporttires; power exterior mirrors; cloth-covered sun visors; satin aluminum interior accents; a new shift knob; and an optional Cognac Connolly leather group, s well as black paint with or without silver stripe. AGTS ACR groupwas added for club racing inSpring1999; it included a 460 horsepower (500 lb-ft) engine, p from 450 and 490, ith single piece BBS 18-inchwheels, onishocks, eritor springs,K&Nairfilter, nd five point restraint system. In 2000, teel gray was added as a color, hild seat tethers and an on-board vapor recovery system (for refueling) were added, nd the ACR group was modified with a performance oil pan, djustable monotubeshocks, nd a new nameplate. 2001 carried on with standard four-wheel antilock discbrakes, ace yellow and sapphire blue paint on either model, lack center stripes with Viper Race, nd yellow paint on GTS. An optional comfort group, ith air conditioning and improved stereo, as also added; and keys gained Viper-logo heads. The R/T 10 was given an emergency internal trunk release. For the final year, 002, GTS Final Edition was released, ith 360 Viper Coupes carrying red paint, hite stripes, nd special badging. Both coupe and roadster got graphic metallic paint (a silver stripe was optional on this with GTS).
