When it's time to go to work, ou want a truck you can depend upon. Well, his 2008 Sierra 3500HD SLT is that truck. With power from the 6.6 Duramax diesel engine and the 6-speed Allison automatc transmission, ou can tow just about anything you have the nerve to hook to it. It has also been upgraded with American Racing wheels & big 33x12.50 tires. The SLT package is the top of the line so it has all the extra features & goodies that you don't find on lesser models such as a driver information center, teering wheel controls, xtra power outlets, tc.

The expensive B&W Turnover ball is ready to pull whatever you want to hook to it or it turns over to sit flush with the bed if you need to haul something. Apparently the previous owner didn't use it much since it's covered by the bedliner. Whether you need it or not, t's an expensive hitch that you can sell or that adds value to the truck down the road. This truck even has heated washer fluid...not something we need down here in God's Country but you yankees might appreciate it. :)

Don't let the 249k miles worry you, his truck runs GREAT! It has no blowby & makes no weird noises. The presence of a great matched set of tires should tell you how well this truck has been maintained. It is equipped with the Z71 package so it has skidplates, pecial shocks, tc plus it has the Z82 HD towing package as well as built-in trailer brake controller. We've used this truck to haul several campers around with NO ISSUES. This is no stripped-down work truck either. It's packed with options like HEATED leather MEMORY power seats, edliner, utomatic headlights, nd more!

We regularly see these trucks with 400-500,000 miles and running strong. It's a Southern truck so there are absolutely NO RUST HOLES OR BUBBLES. We've had our mechanic go over this truck top to bottom. The previous owner had the transmission rebuilt about 2 years ago & it is still under the 3yr/100k mile warranty. We wouldn't hesitate to get in this truck and drive it anywhere! Feel free to fly in and drive it home no matter where that may be. Best of all, e need to free up the money so we're selling this truck with a LOW RESERVE that isTHOUSANDS BELOW the book value of nearly $25,000!!!

What's New for 2008

Other than replacing its 16-inch wheels with 17s and satellite radio becoming standard across the line, he 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD sees no significant changes.

Introduction

Like David Banner in The Incredible Hulk, hevrolet simply wasn't going to take it anymore. After suffering from years of criticism over the less-than-spectacular quality of the interiors of its full-size trucks, hevy's pickup line underwent a startling metamorphosis last year. In this case, hough, he Silverado 3500HD wasn't so much green and angry as it was friendly and usable.

The new interior was a major upgrade, nd it featured higher-quality materials, ighter build quality and a sharper overall design. In addition to the attractive interior, hat metamorphosis also brought new styling, more powerful engine lineup and a stronger frame. The latter pair of improvements allowed even higher payload and towing capacities, hich increased to levels even that muscle-bound green guy would be proud of -- 5,307 pounds and 16,500 pounds (with a fifth-wheel hitch), espectively.

Compared against its archrival in the heavy-duty arena, ord's Super Duty, he 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD edges out the Ford in work capacity and has an arguably nicer interior. Either way, ou can't go wrong if you're looking for a comfortable heavy-duty hauler. But if neither the bowtie nor the blue oval does it for you, here's also the remaining member of the old "Big 3" -- the Dodge Ram 3500. The Ram offers nearly equal towing ability and ride comfort but lags behind in payload capacity and available cargo bed configurations.

Body Styles, rim Levels, nd Options

The 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is a 1-ton pickup that comes in three body styles: regular cab, xtended cab and crew cab. All are fitted with a long bed and all but the 2WD standard cab can be had in either single- or dual-rear-wheel versions.

Regular cabs are available in base Work Truck or midlevel LT trims, hile the extended and crew cabs can also be had in plush LTZ form. The Work Truck trim comes with the basics, ncluding 17-inch wheels, ir-conditioning (extended and crew cab versions), trip computer, nStar telematics, inyl seating, 40/20/40-split front bench seat, tilt steering wheel and an audio system with CD player and satellite radio.

The LT trim actually consists of two subsets: 1LT and 2LT. The 1LT adds deep-tinted windows, hrome grille trim, lloy wheels, CD player, ruise control, ull power accessories, loth seating, eyless entry, n auto-dimming rearview mirror and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Opting for the 2LT (in extended and crew cabs) gets you dual-zone automatic climate control, oglamps, ront bucket seats and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls.

The top-of-the-line LTZ adds leather seating, ain-sensing wipers (with heated washer fluid), Bose audio system with six-disc CD changer, eyless entry/start, n exclusive dash design with wood/metallic accents, 2-way power and heated front seats, ear audio controls and HomeLink universal remote.

Available options include a power-sliding rear window, navigation system, rear-seat DVD entertainment system, ear park assist, sunroof, n integrated trailer brake controller, he Z71 Off-Road Package (skid plates, ff-road suspension and locking rear differential), he Safety Package (power-adjustable pedals and park assist), snow plow prep package and a cargo management system (which includes sliding tie-down hooks in the bed interior's front and sides).

Powertrains and Performance

A 6.0-liter V8 (353 horsepower and 373 pound-feet of torque) matched to a six-speed automatic transmission is standard on all Silverado 3500HD trucks. Optional is the burly Duramax 6.6-liter turbodiesel V8, hich boasts 365 hp and 660 lb-ft of torque. The Duramax comes paired to an Allison six-speed automatic. Properly equipped, he Duramax allows impressive payload and towing capacities of 5,307 and 16,500 pounds (with a fifth-wheel hitch), espectively.

Buyers have a choice of either rear- or four-wheel drive. The Work Truck with 4WD has a traditional floor-mounted selector for the transfer case. All other 4WD trims have Autotrac, hich features an automatic setting that shifts into 4WD when wheel slippage is detected.

Safety

Antilock disc brakes are standard, hough stability control, ront side- and side curtain airbags are not available. A Safety package that includes power adjustable pedals and rear park assist is optional.

Interior Design and Special Features

Overall, he cabin's fit and finish is impressive. Simple, ntuitive controls, omfortable seats, n abundance of storage cubbies, hree power points and well-placed cupholders add to the user-friendly environment. There is also a one-touch, hree-blink lane-change feature and standard satellite radio that make long trips more enjoyable. Rivaling the interior of a Cadillac, he plush Silverado LTZ features a unique dash and door panel design with handsome wood grain and metallic accents that give this workhorse the feel of a premium luxury sedan.

Driving Impressions

Based on our experience with the Silverado 1500 as well as the previous generation of the 3500HD, e'd expect the 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD to provide sprightly performance, specially with the now even stronger turbodiesel V8. On long trips, he 3500HD's supple suspension should swallow bumps (even with the heavy-duty towing option) while still allowing confident, o-slop handling with a minimum of body sway through the turns. The cabins of those previously tested Silverados were impressively quiet, characteristic sure to continue with the latest heavy-duty lineup.
