This vehicle is a factory-original un-restored factory-original 1955 BelAir Neptune Green Shoreline Beige Two Door Hardtop. It is equipped with the original 265 Power Pack, ower-glide transmission that was installed at the factory. Factory installed options are Power Brakes, 65 Power Pack engine, ower Glide Transmission, inted Glass, il Filter and Heater/Defroster. Original dealer installed option are Outside rear view mirror, as Door guard, B Radio, issue Dispenser, oor Edge Guards, ush Button Radio, loor Mats, icense Plate Frames and Locking Gas Cap.



History:


  • This 1955 Chevrolet was built on March 28, 955 at the Chevrolet Assembly Plant located at Janesville, isconsin. The original factory build sheet was found under the front carpet. See enclosed photo of original build sheet.

  • In May 1955, t was sold new at Anderson Chevrolet, hich was located in downtown Minneapolis, innesota. An original Anderson Chevrolet decal is still attached to the inside of the glove-box door.

  • This car’s original owner was an older gentleman who lived in Hastings, innesota. He died in 1980 and Gary Roehn from St. Paul, innesota purchased this car from his estate. At that time, t had 42,000 actual miles.

  • In 1987, ary sold this car to Dave Robertson from Superior, isconsin.

  • I purchased it in late March 1992. At that time it had traveled 52,000 miles.

  • Currently, riginal mileage is 56,872.

    Originality and Condition:


  • Exterior:

  • Sheet Metal and Paint:

  • All Original Neptune Green/Shoreline Beige exterior paint, ith the exception of a little repaint work (one foot square) in the back of the passenger door/front of right quarter area. Repair appears to have been performed when car was just a few years old

  • A moderate number of paint chips are evident on both doors

  • Paint is thin on outside edges of hood to the point where there are primer shadows

  • No rust or dents ever.

  • All factory original bodywork and lead seams, tc. is untouched

  • Chrome, lass and other trim:

  • Original bumpers were show chrome plated by second owner in early 80s. Near perfect

  • Stainless original trim, ll original and near perfect

  • Hood bird, eadlight rings, ail light rings and door handles, ll original and some pitting

  • Glass, ll original and near perfect. See decoding list for details.

  • Headlights are original Guide 12V, ot T3s.

  • Interior:

  • Seats, oor panels, arpets, eadliner and floor mats are factory original and showing little wear

  • Under dash is all original and near perfect. Items were are bare metal from factory hardly have any surface rust on them

  • All gauges, eater, adio, peedometer work same as from factory except gas gauge will not read above 3/8 full even when tank is full of fuel.

  • Engine, ngine Compartment and All Items Located Under hood

  • Engine runs great. It is my opinion the heads have never been off engine. I am sure the engine has never been out of the car. Rear main seal leaks oil moderately

  • Carburetor and PB Booster were recently rebuilt

  • Distributor recently checked out and serviced.

  • Original transmission was resealed and completely rebuilt in 2004. Have receipts to verify expense.

  • The battery is a reproduction Delco Tar Top item with an Optimal dry cell battery inside the vintage battery case.

  • Engine, ransmission, enerator, tarter, arburetor, adiator, ater pump, uel pump, ower brake booster, aster cylinder, orns, oltage regulator, nd wiper motor are same original components that were installed by factory when this car was built.

  • Top of engine has been repainted and some areas

  • Fan belt, attery, lugs, oints, ondenser, lug wires, adiator hoses, eater hoses are exact reproduction

  • Undercarriage

  • There is no rust anywhere. Drive shaft is not even rusty and it is bare steel.

  • Factory inspection marks are visible on differential, rive shaft and front suspension components

  • Dealer installed under coating that was installed when car was new covers floor pan.

  • Where undercoating is thin, actory red primer is clearly visible.

  • All undercarriage components including shocks are factory original. Two exceptions are listed below

  • One lower ball joint and the exhaust system are the only components that have been replaced

  • Tires are near-new exact reproduction Firestone 6.70x15s.

    Documentation:


  • Original build sheet in good condition. VIN and option RPOs are clearly visible on the original copy of the build sheet.


  • We have never seen another original build sheet for a 1955 Chevrolet
