Description

2005 Cadillac SRX 132,713 miles, till driving it some occasionally might have slightly more miles.

Private seller – My wife and I are in our mid 50’s, e have personally owned this SRX for 7 years. We purchased in in January of 2009 for $15,500. It has spent it’s entire time with us in the garage, t’s a non-smoking car that is pet friendly : ) This was my wife’s daily driver until we purchased a Jeep Cherokee to tow behind our Motor Coach. The only reason we are selling is because the Cadillac is not towable behind our Motor Coach and the Jeep is (see pic). I’ll do my best to describe it in detail and if I leave anything off its purely un-intentional. We do have a clear title in our possession. If you live nearby I’ll be glad to let you take it for a test drive.

Engine and Transmission - We bought the car with 75,000 miles and have maintained it best we could. Engine oil was changed every 3,000 miles, e had the transmission fluid flushed around 90,000 as recommended at the local Valvoline Lube shop. It does not smoke and starts-up and runs smooth. It’s equipped with the sport shift option but we never used it. On average we get 18 MPG between city and highway driving. We do have 2 of the original key fobs that work well and all of the original owners manuals. About 2 months ago, e received an error code 4055, nd we replaced the canister purge valve, nd during the process, he clip on the hose crumbled in our hands, nd we have the hose on the valve, nd working, ut it needs that clip, nd we haven’t found a replacement. At a stop, e may feel a tiny hiccup, ut the check engine light is off. My wife reminded me of this, nd felt we should at least mention it. I’ll show the new owner the clip in hopes you’ll have better luck finding a new one. A zip tie or small hose clamp might work?

Tires, rakes and suspension - Tires installed approximately 20,000 miles ago, e have rotated and balanced them every 5,000 and they are still in great shape. Please see pictures for tread depth. The car rides very smooth, o shake or shimmy at all. We did recently replace the suspension struts at the recommendation of the Cadillac dealer, ut we didn’t use the $2,000 computer aided Cadillac struts. We installed the NAPA versions at $600. I think the computer ones come into play if you are towing for the auto-level feature. We don’t tow and didn’t plan to tow. When you first start the car a message comes on saying “service suspension”. That’s because we opted not to install the computer aided struts from Cadillac. The struts have been replaced and we have the receipts. It also presents a warning at 80mph, hat it will shut down gas flow, nd this is a result of not installing the non computerized struts. A safety feature built into the car. We have the lifetime rotation and balance at Wal-mart, ’ll try to get that done before the car sells. Within the past year we have replaced all of the rotors and brake pads. At 112,592 miles we replaced the rack and pinion unit and power steering pump and had an alignment. We’ll pass along all of the receipts.

Exterior - Overall I’d give it a 8/10. As you can see in the pictures, he car cleans up real well and looks nice. There are no visible dents or major scratches, nly typical of an 11 year old vehicle. There is a chip/crack in the 3rd brake light. It’s visible in the rear picture on the right side about 12” from the end. The light still works. They sell replacement lens on Ebay for $99 last time I looked. The vehicle glass is all intact and scratch free. There is a place in the back where I had an Ironman magnet that I will try to remove. There are also a few scrapes on the rear bumper where we were loading things in and out. There are 6-8 door dings overall, ypical of a 2005 model car. The deepest is small the passenger side near the wheel well.

Interior – Probably a 6/10. The seats are very comfortable and not worn-out and broken down. The back seat has barely been used. My wife has transported her dogs in the car 3 years ago. As a result there are 3 places the dog chewed. There are visible in the pictures. 1. On the back of the rear seat. 2. The rear seat armrest that flips down, he 2” tab is chewed. I’d probably just cut the tab off myself. I’ll post pictures to show this. There is also a place on the dash just below the radio volume know where the black finish is peeling off. This is a very common problem in about 80% of this model. Sometimes when you make a turn or hit a pot-hole the moon roof makes a funny sound. We noticed it when we test-drove it 7 years ago. After riding in 2 other SRX’s, hey do the same thing. It does not leak, hat’s the main thing. The passenger side grab bar overhead has come off. We still have the bar.

Options – This is the Luxury model it does come all of the “bells and whistles”. Everything available is on this package, ower windows, eated seats, ower mirrors, emory seats, uto climate control, ilt and telescopic wheel, ower pedals and more. The gas style shocks that hold the read deck lid and hood open work fine. It has Onstar but it’s not activated, ikewise the radio is Sirius or XM capable but not activated. It does come with Bose sound system that really sounds good. I do think the radio gets poor reception compared to out other vehicles. In addition to the Luxury package it also has the upgraded power third row seating, ltra-view moon roof, PS navigation, ear entertainment DVD system with Bose audio. The good news… Everything works.

The Rest – We live in Rineyville Kentucky, bout 20 minutes off of Interstate 65 at exit 102. We’re about 2 hours from Nashville, incinnati and Indianapolis. If you wanted to fly into Louisville I’ll be glad to meet you at the airport, bout 45 min away. I will also list the Cadillac locally. If it sells local, reserve the right to end the auction early. After looking at recent eBay and other car sites, ’m setting the reserve at $6,000 that’s the least I’d let this car go for. If someone gets it for that you’re getting a good deal. I’ll make myself available to answer and questions you may have or if you would like any other pictures. You can ask a question through eBay and I’ll try to reply ASAP or if you’re really serious call me at 270-727-7697, don’t mind. If I were going to spent $6-7K on a car I'd want to talk to the owner myself.

Thanks, ark
