This car comes to us from sunny Ventura California, nd it sure has the look of a true west coast custom. Classic cars are all about passion. Some of the nicest classics we feature are those built by folks who invest a large amount of time and money into a project they simply love. And much to the surprise of casual onlookers, ost gear head’s dream builds don’t involve Ridler finalists or a prestigious pile of garage floor décor. Instead, hey’re filled with impressive, ell-done cruisers, hich wrap modern power, veryday driveability and top-notch road manners into about five times the curb appeal of your local showroom special. This awesome ’57 Chevy 2 door post sedan was carefully crafted into a first class head turner during a multi-year, igh dollar restoration. And thanks to a shaken down 468 big block and a virtually indestructible driveline, t’s now the perfect platform for cross-country road trips. Looking for a hot tri-five that’s every bit as cool and twice as classy as some other high priced customs? Then this big and blue, eautiful ‘57 210 sedan is an amazing car at an incredible price!
This slick 210 is proof that Chevrolet’s decision to take a curvaceous fuselage, eld it to a sweeping roofline, nd decorate it with an ample amount of chrome was indeed an excellent idea. Glancing at its profile, his Chevy was an extremely solid piece when its high quality frame-off restoration began. Nonetheless, ts body was most likely stripped to bare metal and virtually perfected in a thorough rebuild that included a restored undercarriage and smooth black paint. And today, t rolls as one fantastic tai-five that turns heads everywhere it goes!
When it comes to trim, his car has it ALL, ith a striking combination of highly polished stainless and beautiful body width front bumper that props a clean and stainless grille behind a pristine Chevrolet crest and two clear parking lamps. Above that crest, hrome header ornamentation rides between hooded headlights and ’57 Chevy-exclusive ‘spear bullets and spoons’. At the sides of those headlights, lassic tri-five stainless is flanked by traditional fender louvers, nd crisp smooth side molding stainless trim. That trim continues down the sides and finishes with peaked fin caps that highlight those undeniable ’57 Chevy taillights, second chrome bumper and polished exhaust tips. Above that bumper, hrome trunk ornamentation reflects a rear tag frame.
Under the car’s hood you’ll find a big block 468 with a little over 400 horsepower and 400-lb./ft. torque. Instant speed and modern drivability are provided by a compact aluminum intake that’s jolted by a Lokar throttle cable that connects to a Holley 750 single pump dual feed carb. Under that carb and chrome air cleaner lies a set of chrome valve covers that really add to the dress up of this engine bay. Cooling is provided by an Aluminum radiator, hich is sandwiched between a cooling components puller fan, nd an aluminum A/C condenser. An MSD ignition system is responsible for the spark that fires off this beast, nd is the industry’s most reliable system at that. Charging comes courtesy of a polished Powermaster alternator that, hanks to a factory true pulley system, pins in unison with a chrome AC compressor and correct water pump. The spent gases travel from a slick pair of coated long headers into large, luminized exhaust pipes. Visually, his sweet Chevy’s carefully painted engine bay is a stylish combination of glossy paint and chrome finishes. Details that stand out are a polished chrome air cleaner, olished block off plate, nd the blue high quality Taylor Spiro made spark plug wires add to the great looks under the hood and instill confidence!
During its frame-off restoration, his 210’s original ‘Glide Ride’ suspension was fully rebuilt with power steering and a pair of high quality coil-springs plus new shocks all the way around. Above the suspension, ust-free floor pans are showing off their smooth high gloss black paint finish. Behind the stout big block is a tried and true GM Turbo 350 automatic transmission that pushes power back to a Currie 9-inch rear-end that’s equipped with a positraction differential. Braking is handled by a front disc brake GM style conversion from our friend at Danchuck. In the rear it’s still sporting the factory style drums. Exhaust rumbles through big, luminized pipes to aggressive turboflow mufflers. Power flows to the pavement via polished Boyd Coddington 17” wheels that spin 225/45R17 Federal super steel 595’s in front and 255/50R17 in the rear. All of the car’s lines, oses, rackets and fasteners, hich were completely replaced at the time of restoration, how little to no weathering. Everything from this Chevy’s Powermaster starter to its fresh fuel tank is fully sorted and ready to hit the road!
Featuring a stunning array of accents, his tri-five’s carefully restored interior is both clean and impressive. At the center of the car, irm bench seats wear a striking combination of black leather and black ostrich. On the doors are the same two tone leather and ostrich combination that look custom that hang correct on the door handles and chrome window cranks between the simple armrests plus the glossy window frames. On the rear-packing shelf sit a set of Memphis audio kick speakers. At the floor, resh black carpet centers a chrome shifter between beefy mats, illet pedals and straight Fisher sills. On the roof a tight black headliner stretches from the car’s curved front window to its’ straight, lack package tray. At the front of the cockpit, painted and polished billet dash hangs Dakoda digital Instruments and Vintage Air climate control beside an original non-working Wonder Bar radio, Secret Pioneer Audio sound system sits under the right side front seat. The system with a hidden amp in the trunk is what makes this sound system rock. Included in that system are two subs mounted in the trunk area. The driver is connected to the road by a stylish, -spoke 14” steering wheel that spins a familiar Classic horn button around a tilting Ididit column. And the passengers carry their essentials in a full custom trunk that is outfitted in the same two-tone materials as the rest of this car’s great interior.
Cars like this rare 210 are very special and they represent incredible value to buyers. With its hot drivetrain, igh quality restoration and sinister color, his is the kind of build you simply can’t touch for our asking price. Just imagine heading out in this old school classic on a warm spring or summer evening… you’ll certainly hear the burble of the big block as a chorus, he smooth open road as a canvas, nd nothing between you and miles of happiness!
