Description

Up for sale is my 2001 VW GTI VR6 12 Turbo. It is a beauty queen that flaunts a lot of engine, suspension, transmission, interior, and exterior upgrades. This vehicle has about $65k into it between all the upgrades. I'm selling it because I have several built GTi's for sale and unfortunately they are not being driven so it's time to pass them onto a new owner. Let me provide some background.

This vehicle was professionally built by my mechanic when he owned his previous shop, Sleeper's Performance. Many of the exterior and interior upgrades were done by the previous owner, a good customer of ours. It has a refreshed motor (basically the engine was cleaned, hone, checked and refreshed by the machine shop), custom turbo setup with a water to air intercooler, KW V3 coilovers, RH 3 piece wheels and more. The vehicle has been garaged for most, if not all, of its life. It is an great overall condition, exterior, interior and engine wise. Below is a basic list of the upgrades that were installed.

Engine ($30,000):

2.8L VR6 12V with Garrett T67 turbo build. This includes the turbo manifold, custom intake manifold with a water to air intercooler setup, custom intercooler piping, intercooler, custom software, billet engine accessories, blow off valve, wastegate, custom wiring. This project alone cost about $25,000.

Refreshed motor (motor was taken apart, honed out, head was cleaned, replaced springs, lifters etc. before dropping off at Sleepers) additional $2500

Custom 3 inch exhaust with Borla muffler - $2000

Custom air/water built into the intake manifold plenum

Custom air/water coolant tank

Custom coil pack setup

Custom oil catch can

Stealth black powder coated engine components

VF Engine mounts, pendulum mount

124k miles, 20k miles on turbo setup with no mechanical issues

Engine bay painted and cleared upon pulling motor

As you can see there is a huge amount of time and money into this GTi. There are some minor issues, like some small chipped paint on the rear fender, some paint work on one of the doors, and unfortunately the real carbon fiber roof has some cracks. The carbon fiber is fine but the epoxy cracked one day. The vehicle is sold as is. No warranty. Happy bidding. I reserve the right to end this auction early and sell the vehicle locally or via other means I have listed. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.
